I never really liked poetry.

I never really liked the crimson roses
that spilled from my fingertips.
I never really liked holding hands
with cosmos made of truth.

I didn't want the pearls
behind my eyelids to sing.
I didn't want to hear the screeches
that danced on my tongue.

I never really liked the ruby strings
that strangled my coarse throat.
I never really liked the charcoal fingers
that itched my ivory wrists.

I never really liked anything.

Until stars fell and galaxies
succumbed to my eroded feet.

I liked the way the burning skies
lived in the veins of my heart.
I liked the way my eyes bled
endless oceans alive with emotions.

I liked the sugar coated lips
perching on the branches of my head.
I liked the blossoms blooming
from the tip of my voice.

But still,
I don’t really like poetry.

this is it
this is happiness

starlit lakes and starlit eyes
soft fingers tangled through mine
rose petals and dewy perfume
heavy kisses beneath the moon
'good night love' 'sleep well my dear'
burning love and growing fear
shattered hearts and tearstained cheeks
missing warmth under the sheets
crooked smiles, no one can see
a crossed out heart carved in a tree

this is it
this is happiness?
i wanted to write a sonnet, wrote a sad poem instead what a surprise

love hurts, man

"A one-way ticket to space, please."

"These coins can’t get you anywhere"

I poured my silver lined heart
on the desk

"Ma’am this is all I have"

“I am afraid that is not enough"

I plucked my crystal tears
drew the rubies in my veins

I picked out my pearly eyes
they rolled like silk into her hands

"Enjoy your trip"

But

As I stood on the observation deck

Before the inky canvas
freckled with glistening stars

I realised

I had no

Eyes to see
hearts to please

Not even a tear to weep

Just a vessel
With a metaphoric soul

And a one-way ticket to space.

I saw a girl once
and she just gave me a smile
but that was enough
I was having a very bad day and I felt like crying. I got on a bus to go home and that's when I saw her. She was completely normal, there was nothing really special about her. Not the hair, clothes or makeup. But she was just so beautiful. I felt like I could see into her soul. She noticed I was looking at her and just smiled at me. And my day suddenly got a whole lot better. The power of a smile...

Spreading over trees and hills
a wildfire unleashed,
what crosses its path it kills,
no mercy yet no thrill.

Its flames reaching to the sky,
the biggest fear of most,
not hearing its victims cry,
it won't stop on its own.

Always hungry, never full,
feeding on other's pain,
biting all that comes around,
what's left behind is plain.

Yet why is it that we fear,
what never comes alone,
though it's the fire causing harm,
blame the people on the throne.

From:
The arsonist watching,
nearby the fire he has grown.
And so they say, Lord, for everything a reason.

Pass me the vase, will you dear
I've picked some flowers to place in it
They are purple, yellow, white and red
Don't they just make you smile

I will place them by your bed
So when you retire for the night
You won't miss the beauty
That's painted on their faces

Take a moment, will you
To appreciate their worth
Lean in close and take a sniff
Their fragrance is most genuine

And as you wake, remember
I've placed those flowers there
For you to enjoy and adore
If only for a season
