Silent strength
Behind a smile
Struggling heart
Give it a while.

Half a heart
Around her neck
The other half
Around mine.

She will always
Be beautiful
In my dusty eyes.

Calm, hard to find
In a productive mind
She only stops
For my embrace.

She tries
With tears in her eyes
She is the only soul
I want by my side.
In the wood of words
deciduous letters fall
off trees just as pieces
of scrabble and like a
jig-saw puzzle I put
them together to form
a poem or prose and
If there are not enough,
then I compose a Haiku
with a seasonal reference
In seventeen syllables.
Stuck like honey
Stuck like glue
You’re the dream
That just came true
You’re the pedal
Of a rose
You’re the secret
No one knows
You’re the whisper
In the breeze
The one that brings me to my knees
The crescent moon
The setting sun
You’re my living angel
You’re the one
You are the one and only
who’s giving me so much.
A generous heart, a home
true love, a feathery touch.

You are baring your soul.
Even gifting me your sleep
more precious than gems.
Holding me when I weep.

I am whispering secrets
like the wind in your ear.
I embrace you with love
hold you tenderly, near.

You are truth to power
healing love leaving traces
on heartbeats thrilling my soul
every wakening hour.

Poems fill lonely places
as you kiss me gently awake.
Your soft hands on my skin
love to give and love to take.

I see a world in your eyes
every laugh like a wave
of joy wrapped around me,
I feel sheltered and safe.

A hedgehog, while traversing a road
gave a lift to a tentative toad.
As the piggy-back was prickly
they traversed it quite quickly.
and made it safely over the road.

TOBIAS.
Your memory becomes
nebulous when
you think about your wrongdoings,
however, it becomes
crystal clear
when remembering mine.

One day,

I found the letter "W" laid
face to the ground-
i knew this because it's center
was pushed downward,

like a nose in the dirt.

with every attempt i made
to stir it, it would only moan
and remain still, its thin arms
bent around backwards.

this is not the first time
iv'e seen a "W" laid out,
having witnessed many
letters and numerals bite
the dust of misplacement-

it is just the sad truth
of our language.

i found a cardboard box
and picked it up carefully,
making sure i didnt injure
the poor fellow further.

it looked up at me and
made a weak smile,
knowing we all make
mistakes—

upon it's passing away,
it was this expression
i remembered most
when i buried it
next to an
"M"...

You told me you were precious
Promised you only belonged to me
But if only I knew the future
We were never meant to be

I gave all that I had
But you gave me copper diamonds

I surrendered everything for you
You surrendered it all for others
When I believed my heart was yours
You were stealing too many lovers

I gave you all that I had
But you gave me copper diamonds

Now the years have passed on by
Our lives only faded away
We were two different empty souls
That were never meant to stay

I gave you all that I had
But you gave me...

... Copper diamonds

He sang like a mousetrap-
But snapped like a beartrap
Heavy iron cutting,
Into a bite of truth

Never let your heart rust over-
Oxidation is defeat
Sometimes you need an anvil,
With heavy hammer
To temper your soul
Out of wrought iron
I think spiritual and mental fortitude comes from adversity and finding strength within
