We write like we matter
and we know what we know
But what we do not know
is that we do not matter

For if we matter
we will know what matters
and knowing what matters
means
we will see what matters

Which is that we know nothing
but what we think we know

Which is that we do not know
ourselves

And that is hard to take
and even harder to know

So we just fake it
to make it

For when you do not matter
what matters what you know!

The jail for me
is the same jail for all of you
For when we start jailing
the innocent

It means all the guilty
are already in jail
But a lot of the guilty
never see the bars

Because guilt
has no bars
and
no end date

They told me they were fighting for all of us
for we are all in the same boat
how was I to know they were lying
when all tongues are pink
and they all had long pink tongues

We claim freedom to fantasize
to make it up as we go along
in fear we run from reality
and dance in make believe
we are soap-dodgers
who write soap operas
by us for us to us

to be needed by everyone
but wanted by none
if i disappear tomorrow the only thing you'd probably miss is a clean house

How does it feel seeing me shine so bright
from the fire you burnt me in?

I prayed and prayed for the day that you would leave my life
So tell me why now that you've gone
I still don't have any peace of mind?

Today I woke up to silence
All the questions I had in my head
Died within me
Perhaps this is the start of moving on
