Let's get to know each other
I'm just as lost and apathetic as you.
Someone said I have to make friends with me
Before I made friends with others.
But you got to start somewhere
So, how are you?

That Girl
Strike me with tragedy
We all ignorantly cry

What disease has our culture yet to romanticize?

We think we want tragedy
But all we ever wanted was sympathy
We want sympathy for our human condition
Validation for our struggles
We want the attention that cancer would cause
So pathetic that we wish this, as those who suffer from illness would do anything to make it go away
It is not their wish or fault
We are such self-centred creatures

Be thankful for your health, pray for those who are ill
You will always be my moon
But I will one day soon
I will find a sun
Who will eclipse you
He'll illuminate the uncertainty of what I once thought was love.

Carl Sandburg
Dragoons, I tell you the white hydrangeas
     turn rust and go soon.
Already mid September a line of brown runs
     over them.
One sunset after another tracks the faces, the
     petals.
Waiting, they look over the fence for what
     way they go.
Everyone is going to have a bad day from time to time, don't take it personally, just let them be.
2.Tell the people you love that you love them all the time and everyday, they need to know.
3.It's never to late to accomplish what you want.
4.Take care of yourself, get the sleep you need, take a warm bath or eat a meal, it will be okay.
5.If you're not in a relationship, it's not the end of the world. You're still beautiful and you always will be, regardless if you're with someone or not.
6.Enjoy the simpler pleasures like sitting on the beach or reading a book to ensure ultimate happiness.
7.Take pride in what you love, no matter what it is, because it's apart of who you are.

Invocation
We have oddly sticky hands
oil, dust and sugar
newspaper ink and ceramic chips
feet track on moldy rug
broken glass and rusty circles raise the question
peeking into past lives of
each room
salvage ex-roomate's ex-girlfriend's
shampoo body wash flatiron dishes

we make a shrine to spools of thread
little lion man and plastic pans
real tuesday weld and smoke with KC
won't you hold my hand?

Let's overthink dating for a night
I will try to be by your side
my rougey lips are for you
and the moon
thank you
