I used to stay up all night
driving through pastures
in a sweetheart's daddy's jeep

I remember the moon in the woods
through the trees like a girl
running in white *******

Like a boat losing its shadow
to the wind, you can lie
yourself back into bodies
you never touched

What love there was
flashes by like chrome
on a fender skirt.

I am thinking of the dead
who are still with us
on their way in the rain
to meet lovers or brothers
and my sadness waves back
like grain in the fields
of lost summers and summers
before that, fireflies in the dark
still young and beautiful
like starry nights, but for them
there is no moon, and for us
the same news we do not receive.
In memory of Barry.
April 3, 1955 - May 15, 2015.
You are missed, Brother,
Every face tells a story
It's just that with the passage of time one is able to teach oneself as to how to fake it
He scoops sands in baskets

then balancing neatly on the shoulder
carries to where needed
through bone breaking hours.

Upon his footprints is there a name
or a home
where he goes back for the night
lands featherlight kiss on a woman
awakes her sleepy bones with her hands
forgetting his days sinking in the sands.
I had met tears by chance
I can't recall how or when it all started
My heart felt sick
My eyes just surrendered to this weird feeling
Water coming out
Slowly rolling down my cheeks
Gently caressing them
A little bit of it seeping through into my mouth
At first it kinda' stung me
A salty taste settling on my tongue
After a while though i got used to it
But little had i imagined at that point of time that these tears....
....these precious little diamonds would become my best friends
Now they have become more than friends
We are in fact soulmates now
Destined to be together
Whenever i need them they are always there for me...
....without fail they always come to my rescue
Whenever the strain on my soul gets too much
More often than not my eyes just let loose
And i give in to this weird and yet powerful feeling

My shotgun smile
Laugh away the edge
You know I love you
And you love the way we're intertwining
I love the way way the blood spills

My shotgun smile
A sun dial and music
Always time that's true
And your time is all that is me
I'm happy as can be

My shotgun smile
Loaded with dreams
Sweetest schatzi
I'm aiming for your heart
The place we start

My shotgun smile
You intruder
You know I love you
The way you break and enter
I know your face

being
discovered,

we've forgotten to simply
DISCOVER.
