The individual drops of sweat
each represent a small piece
of your former self.

How much longer
before you are the person
you promised to be?

Your muscles tremble,
under the weight of change,
have you forgotten?
I know it has been so long
since you were a child
but growth has always
demanded pain

and it is time you pay.

Sometimes when I think of you
I wish I had all the money in the world
because I want to give you all the finer things
the expensive dinners
the diamond rings
the designer clothes
the tropical vacations
the pearls
the shoes
and basically
every material
desire in this world.

Sometimes when I think of you
I wish I had nothing, nothing at all
because a man with nothing has time
to make love on a blanket
under the star-lit night sky
to kiss you a thousand times
to count the individual lines
inside of your eyes
until he knew them all
like his own reflection
he has time
to listen when you cry
and promise that it'll be all right,
even when he doesn't know
he wants you to know
it'll be all right.
He has time
to hold you tight,
he has time
he has time
he has time
for you.

Sometimes when I think of you
I wish I didn't have to choose

We were misfits
the neglected *******
of a backwards world
that rejected us
not because we were sick
demented or dangerous
but because we didn't prescribe
to a preconceived notion
of what a functioning citizen was.

Not rotten enough to spoil
behind the bars of a prison
just competent enough
to work menial jobs
and drown our sorrows
at the corner pub.

We swallowed this hard truth
the same way we drank our shots
with no chaser
and at times it burnt
maybe even made us tear up
but we never let it beat us
(too strong for that)

We were beautiful
resilient beasts
that could carry the weight
of the world upon our shoulders
and it was heavy
but we would tell ourselves
"doesn't every world need an atlas?"
so we went on holding up the sky
when no one asked it of us.
To taste the bittersweet nectar of thy lunar lips.
Lie me hope, sing to me the song of the helix.
Proffer me the chance to breach thy bastion,
encompass thee in my love and compassion.
Sanction me to be that one whispering love stories
in thine ear while bathing in the Aurora Borealis
dazzling and clear.
You and I, a rickety tent and a love nothing less of
heaven sent.
In mine heart thou shalt forever remain.
My panzer maid grant me...the fall of rain.

I  hope you                          regret breaking
my tiny fragile heart          into a million and one
splintered shards of bitter/sweet, broken memories
just as much as I regret fall\ing for you and that ever-
present sparemint scent/that seems impossible
to shake off of my mi\nd as much as I try
and off of my/ lips, which
are noth\ing but
dry.

                                                                            - g.d.
The sky and the starlight,
the buildings and the city lights,
All are beautiful in the night.

The ocean breathing for the sand,
the rain searching for the dry earth,
the grass holding on for air and land,
All are beautiful in the night.

The tears of a child and the embrace
of his father. The smile of a loved one,
And the place where they met,
her precious stone and the words unsaid.
All are beautiful in the night.

The cross upholding the sky,
the stars that sing beautifully,
and the heart of a newborn.
All are beautiful in the night.
This is my 4th poem, wrote this just recently. It's a poem about how life can be dark and mysterious, but these things make it beautiful.
His hands are scarred,
Face is a mess,
Too long walking
Through the wilderness.
The bears are hungry
Wolves they howl,
The Levy's breaking
All will
Drowns.
Washed away by savage currents
Watching fallen suns go
Down.
I wake up every morning to you
My heart immediately
gravitates towards your light

You are intoxicating
Your lights fuels me
You give me hope to drowns my fears

When my pillow is soaked in tears,
Your comfort soothes my sleep

Your grace is amazing
When my love is lazy
My faith is wavering

There is no persuading... You love me still

In my turbulence
through every known flaw... You are unconditional

I pray
I question
I repent
I weep
I fret with uncertainty
I over-seek
sometimes I must repeat
i'm inconsistent
at times weak
other times too strong
many times wrong

No matter my station
Your decision remains firm

Your are mine
I will never leave you
I will never forsake you
I am with you eternally

You are mine
I will guide you through life's journey

God.**

God,
Hears every unspoken words,
Sees every unseen wounds,
Mends every unbearable pain,

Why can't we love HIM?
