As I throw out the plastic wrappers, I can't help but wonder
if one day, someone will enchant me with a real meal;
homemade heaven between our teeth. And dessert that smells like bites of vanilla, raspberries &
a bitterness of the night ending too soon.
Excerpt from a story I am writing.
Night night sunshines!

Today isn't my birthday;
But it is yours.

I used to love this day.
Just touching the start of the year,
Another day to celebrate.
Planning for months in advance.
Making sure every detail is in place,
Every "i" dotted and "t" crossed.

But now,
Now it's just another day.
It used to be one of my favorites.
And now I have to pretend it's another day.
But it's not.
It's your birthday.

I guess now I realize I was
Trying to make today memorable,
So that you wouldn't forget me.
But that didn't work.
I wish it had.

Happy birthday.
I'm so sorry.
Not my favorite day anymore. Someday hopefully today will be important to me for another reason and I'll forget about how much it hurts right now
I became the crutch you leaned on
Supporting the weight of your pain
I put a cast on your heart
When it became too battered
I became your most sturdy stilt
To help you move on
Until you felt better
That's when you left me
Never did you ask if I sustained injuries
While I was nursing you back to health

Winter introduced itself like a
Sudden death in the family.
A -28 degrees celsius day has fingers
Thin enough to reach through glass,
Leaving its ice on the inside of
Windows.

I find candles and carry firewood,
Preparing for a cold one.
Out here, blackouts can last for a day.
My iPad and portable modem have
Battery enough for one
Poem.

Such are my priorities.
I empty my fridge into the snow,
Thanking the gods
For my beer.
Don't try to reach me. I'm remembering
Life from centuries ago.
I love you so much that
I love you hundred times in a moment
If you go leaving me
I'll be waiting for death

I left the world for you
My breath comes and stops only on you
How much I love you
You will never be able to imagine that

This world is nothing
If you're here then there's a life in it (world)
Where should I go now
Because you're my last destination

Surviving without you is impossible now
You never give me any distances
(Never go leaving me)
How much do I love you
You will never be able to imagine that

I left the world for you
My breath comes and stops only on you
How much I love you
You will never be able to imagine that
English Translation of “Soch Na Sake” song from AIRLIFT movie
I do not speak in sombre tones
Not for me the gentle echo
Hushing through hallowed halls
I shall growl my way to the grave
Be ****** to the insignificant
And to hell with the indifferent
There are no rules or rulers
There are only fools and foolers

I need no-one else's straight lines
I have imagination enough to swerve
And spite enough to spin
Snapping snarling and seditious
Spitting venomous and vicious
Flamed by the world's injustice
And humanity's indifference
Not until I am dead burned and scattered
Shall I rest assured

I am out of words
out of verses
nothing rhymes
with your absence

Yet time stood still
for you
and life, well life is
not the same
without your eyes
and the truth of all truths:
a single thought of
you will always move my
soul

But time presses time
and I try to find the word
and rhyme
the voice
of a soul moved:
I think of you
and warmth
overwhelms the silence
the word that rhymes
Today is your birthday and I cannot see you. The stone with your name takes me, buries me in the grief of your absence. And I want to believe, I will see you again. Oh, what I would give to hug you.  It was today, five years ago that I last heard your voice. You were 23, happy and busy as always. A month later you were gone. I am so glad we had those 3 minutes on the phone. I remember telling you how much I missed and loved you and,  I heard you: "Me too, Syl. Me Too."

You are 28 to me, and I am counting the days.  I will see you again.

Miss you Josh
