Happiness is Free
Jordan Oct 2015
I like to make tea in my house
And sit by the window
Watching the leaves change

I like to swim in my hoodie
This one is gray
It matches the clouds

I like the way the afternoon sounds
Sometimes I am poor
But not today

I've Got Soul, Do You?
Jordan Jul 2015
Unchain yourself, detach from this world
Rip away quick like a bandage
Spiral out.
Break free from shackled *******

You are me.
Eye am you.
We are love.
Love is a bond most true.

With this love, let's create a world anew
Come vibe with me, resonate with me
Heal this earth.
We have love, we have the key.

Farm House Blues
Jordan Jun 2015
The cows out back have been acting shady
A stampede put 3 in the hospital and killed a lady
They pushed a sheep in the well
They've been giving me hell
I'll be better off when they're smothered in gravy

What It Comes Down To
Jordan May 2015
Everybody's got something to do
Something to lose
Something to prove
Some kind of excuse
A path to choose
They're looking for clues

And I'm just out here laughing till I *** my pants

Simple, Sweet, Honest
Jordan May 2015
You went one way,
I went the other.
You lived your life,
I lived another.

Then under brief circumstance,
A glance, a smile
Our hearts connect,
Now it's been that way awhile.

Because the way you went
Was the same as me,
And going the same way
Is the best way to be.

Now when I'm with you
All I can think is to say
...
Ooh baby I love your way.

My Name Is Human Being
Jordan May 2015
Sometimes I laugh
When nothing's funny.
I smile at the rain,
When it's not even sunny.

I love the ring in my nose,
And the dreads in my hair.
I know most of you don't,
But I don't really care.

Sometimes I walk
Without my shoes.
I'd rather be me,
Even if I'm different than you.

I like to read things
I won't be tested on.
I've got nothing to prove
As long as I'm getting on.

I don't want to be governed
By money or clocks.
I can't follow the rest
Because individuality rocks.

Whaddup World
Jordan Feb 2015
If I could do whatever I wanted,
I'd live my life as I please.
The folks would call me crazy,
But really I'd just be free.

I wouldn't walk, but wander
And skip around joyously.
I'd throw my arms up in the air
And breathe life into my lungs endlessly.

I'd put flowers in my hair
And let it blow in the wind.
I'd take the make-up off my face
And have all of you as friends.

I'd kiss you on the lips
And fall in love like I mean it.
I'd give you my love in the softest meadow
Right after getting so freaking lit.

I'd scream from the mountain-tops
So the clouds could hear my voice.
I'd sing songs with all the pretty birds;
I'd give the world no choice.

What Is Love
Jordan Dec 2014
Love is no analysis
Or crazy list of things
It’s got nothing to do with birds or bees
Or silly diamond rings

It’s a little about the brain
But more about the heart
Add that to your soul
And you’re off to a good start

It’s feelings over thoughts
It’s not about control
You can’t control what you feel
And trying to control love will take its toll

If love was a number
Could you count that high?
Your life is one second
Don’t let it pass by

Because in the end
You’ll look back and see
It wasn’t fashion or cars
But love that’s all we need
Jordan Sep 2014
For what are you looking?
Do you think you'll find it here?
You're moving far too fast,
Take a seat my dear.

Your vision seems blurry,
Your thoughts, unclear.
You have eyes that are open,
But from what soul do they peer?

Can you feel the time dripping,
From the ends of your fingers?
Every heart beat makes a second,
That you waste while you linger.

Try instead gazing deeply,
Into the backs of your eye skins,
To discover what's calling,
From so deeply within.

Then when you're ready to look out,
A new world you shall see,
A world that you know.
You've discovered the key,

Take your car out for a drive
Become a robot in your own automobile
On your way to clock in at your 9-5
Tune in to the latest hits, and buckle up behind the wheel

Don’t forget to grab your caffeine fix
To power your through your shift
Throw some sugar-free syrups in the mix
Don’t be late to work, behind a screen you shall sit

Thank God it’s Friday
You’ve scraped through the week
You’ve got all sorts of bills to pay
How else will those on welfare eat?

It’s your hard-earned cash
But let’s spend it my way
You need prescriptions, then McDonalds fast!
The corporations are hungry for your money today

The latest fashion now is out!
Look pretty-****-skinny-super-cute
Woo-hoo for unlimited money on your credit account!
Those East-Asian kids are working hard for you!

The latest IPhone is coming soon
You must buy it, along with an unlimited data plan
Then buy all the popular apps, games, and tunes
And check all your social media accounts as much as you can

Post pictures and videos of all of the places you’ve visited
Pin your most frequented to a map, to connect with peers
Include your address, phone number, and everything about your kids.
Share your hobbies, goals, and fears

Remember how blessed you are to be an American
But don’t push it, patriotism is no longer cool
Anyway, you worship the government now, not some silly religion
Rule by Obama, for Obama, because dictators rule!
My 'lol' extension:

Don’t stress the small stuff
Who cares about the soldiers? I’m so over it.
Bergdahl’s safe, isn’t that enough?
Forget Benghazi, your healthcare, the defecit

Forget everything
Look, American Gladiator is on
Look here’s 200 more channels – I’m going golfing
F you, republicans, I’m not working because ‘I won’

What A Life It Must Be
Jordan Jul 2014
I sit outside and ponder
What a life it must be
For that little bird up there
Perched high up in that tree

I would fly so high
To float with the sun and stars
So I could enjoy a view far greater
Than that of any of ours

I’d abandon all my problems
Totally lose them in flight
Then sing songs of happiness
With all the lovebirds in sight

I’d think little birdy thoughts
Of worms and nests and things
And I wouldn’t think of bills or my job
Nor my reputation or fancy diamond rings

Catfights would be another story
An otherwise life without any worry
No stress, no hustle-bustle, or hurry
I’d lose myself in birdy-ness and all its glory

I’d wake up the sun
And flutter joyously in play
Then that big yellow ball
Would put me to bed at the end of the day

Complete Rejuvination
Jordan Jul 2014
Focusing on the energy I feel,
Here I lie awake this nite,
Wondering how I could possibly sleep,
With the subtle glow of the moons lite?

She’s whispering my name,
As she brightly shines, fully aglow,
But not to be heard out loud,
It’s a calling deep within my soul,

Now she’s gotten me out of bed,
And pulled me thru the door.
In the twilight of the nite, standing face to face,
I know there’s something more

Out past the haunting glow of city lites,
Out into the great wide open,
I’m feeling big and small at the same time,
A peace, a oneness that doesn’t come often

And it feels so ******* good to live
And breathe it in with endless lungs
As my soul flutters in rejoice
My body numbs, I fully succumb

The pond here is completely still
A flawless reflection of every star in the abyss
The earth and sky are a mystic one
A rejuvenation I’m glad to not have missed

Walking deeper thru the forest
I find the creek hidden out of sight
Here I wash my face
As I bathe in the moonlight

I lay myself out to dry
In a padded bed of clovers
Tie a mountain rose up in my hair
And band it over and over

The sun comes up
As I say goodbye my friend
As long as you return to my night
Our companionship will not end
How strange it is to be anything at all.

The moon is my friend!

A Truelove's Death
Jordan Jun 2014
Every time I open my eyes
It’s you I see in my sights
Even tho you’ve surpassed this life
Your love is still my light

You’re the warmth in every sunshine
The calm in every rain
The grace in every fallen snow
The river that washes away my pain

When the wind whistles
I hear you voice my name
Without you I should feel sorrow
But your love only remains

Every year you spring up in my garden
You’re in every cup of Jasmine tea
You’re the freshness in every breath
And I’ll breathe you endlessly

You’re the first thought when I wake up
And the last before I fall asleep
You’re all of the dreams in between
You see, these memories I have run deep

You’re the light in any darkness
You’re also the voice in my head
It says ‘have I told you lately that I love you?
And that with your heart, I am not yet dead?’
Even in death, true love never dies.

Wandering Soul
Jordan Jun 2014
I don’t know where you fly to at nite.
I’m certain to all that I love.
Do you glow with the moonlite?
Or float in the heavens up above?

Do you hang with the stars in the sky?
Or gaze at them from the meadow below?
Do you give me a kiss goodbye?
Or just in the morning to say hello?

Maybe you grow with the tree garden,
Or sleep with the lions of my sign,
Where is it you go wanderin’
Little soul of mine?

I wonder if you go back
To the dawning of your days.
I wonder when was that?
Or were you here always?

Maybe you go to my future,
Setting it straight for me,
You’ve had great judgment so far
As the holder of my life’s key

Do you mingle with other souls?
You must be looking for your perfect mate
So you’re not lonely on such twilight strolls
Wherever it is that you go so late.

The Road Less Travelled
Jordan Jun 2014
Seconds fly, days go by, awaiting what the day will bring
Another year unravels, time it travels, decades spent in wandering
Going where the wind blows, as the river flows, not hunting for a single thing
Footloose traveler, freedom connoisseur, I was a bird who didn't know it had wings
Pathless, trackless, map-less, but at this very moment, I’m feeling in the swing of things
It was on this unbeaten life path of mine
That my soul was led straight to yours

I'm Sorry
Jordan Jun 2014
I bet she was easy to ******
Probably met her at a bar
Bought her a couple girly shots
And she hopped right in your car

I bet instead of taking her home
She ended up at your place
She was probably pretty frisky
To you just a pretty face

You answered her attention call
She cured your insecurities
She’s a bottle of pent up desperation
That everyone else can see

And that simple fact
That she needs you in her life
Is just what you need right now
After I cut your heart out with my knife

You fill her enamored mind
With a future she thinks up in her head
Of love and weddings and happiness
You’d rather fill your mind with lead

I bet she needs you like I never did
She thinks her daughter does too
All she ever wanted was your true love
But I took all the love from you

Rain Love
Jordan May 2014
If rain is your love,
Let it pour down on me
So I can dance in your presence,
Let go and be free

If rolling thunder is the language
Of overflowing joy,
I'll listen for hours,
You're so sweet, my rain boy

If swirling, dark clouds
Are my shelter from harm,
I've made it home to my love,
Safely into your arms

And the next day,
When the sun appears,
Your coursing rain,
Will be my flowing tears

The amount I miss you
I cannot explain
The day you left
Caused so much pain

All that once was
Flooded down the drain
When you took your last breath,
Out the window was rain

If rain is your love,
Let it pour down on me
So I can dance in your presence,
Let go and be free

Synthetic eyes crystalize an unforseeable magic

A deceptively sound mind warps and unbelievable logic

A body willingly disables as victim to an unchained spirit mystic

Hereby deemed 'society's most unfit,' this one is undeservingly crowned 'the lunatic'

Whether it's the brain that's fried or the mind that's been set free

A different viewpoint of the world is someone's whole reality

We all work in mysterious ways nobody else can see

No mind is any less, more incorrect, than that of society
