WHO
Mirror mirror on the wall
Who will rise and who will fall?
Who will suggest?
Who will deride?
Who promises safety?
Who propagates lies?
Who lives for the people?
Who works for themselves?
Who lines their pockets?
Who's stocking the shelves?
Who keeps us informed?
Who knows what to do?
Who has the solutions?
Who prepared?
Who knew?
Who wonders?
Who marches?
Who decides what ensues?
Look! Who's coming to your rescue

Haunted by words
unsaid hope and fear unite
The future is not written
All but hidden in plain sight

Innocence welcomes winds of change
The calm before the storm
Reform, recourse, reaction
Everywhere
Uniform

New threat
New law
New normal
What's done now shall it remain?
Digital connection
Parroted refrain

Solutions from the experts
Make haste, emergency!
Only time can answer...
For the love of philanthropy

Close
Disclose
We distance
All for our safety
Report
Resort to witness
The price?
Sweet liberty

Oh! Mighty saviour on high
Prophetic Algorithmic eye
Who will prosper
Who will perish
Freedom
to live or die

Can it be that all around us
Greed and power tighten grip?
The band played on
Lest we forget
Down with the unsinkable ship

Mother earth how she is plundered
Controlled consumption now ensues
Vested interest
Turn a profit
Are you tempted to abuse?

Future still remains uncertain
So much joy in every day
Rite of passage
Right of movement
Withdraw
Stay home
Stay

Stronger now
For there are answers
To the questions you may seek
The truth
It won't come easy
Too weak
Too meek
To speak

words of reason
Oh so grateful
For the seeds lovingly sown
We know not what lies before us
Though examples clearly shown

Finding purpose in a passion
Create intention with an art
We all stand in time together
And we each will play our part

Olga the ostrich and
Cedric the lamb
Naive innocence and
Head in the sand

Evil
Never seen, never heard and never spoken
Interests unquestioned
Illusions unbroken

Tolerate
Dont discriminate "beware theorising"
The warnings were heeded
Resisted surmising

Cedric herded to slaughter
Olga safe in her cage
Medicine in the water
That will mute the outrage

Cedric sees what's ahead now
Olga's cage welded closed
Slave incumbant got here how?
That's just life, I suppose.
The sun, shined warmly this morning.
Yet by noon the rain clouds rolled in.
We donned our sweaters and hats.
Yet off they came and the clouds parted
And the sun began to shine.

Facing the sun
It warmed our cheeks
Lifted our souls.
Our hearts understood
Even when it rains
The sun continues to shine
Above and between the clouds.

COVID-19 is just like a little rain
In the larger scheme of Life.
When trouble comes
We don our coats
And remove them
The sun shines  hot upon us.

Day after day,
Season after season
Year after year
Looking between the clouds
Lifting our eyes to the Light
Noticing the wheels
Within the wheels
And cycles within cycles

It is the same within
As is above.
The sun in its orbit
With the Earth revolving
And turning upon itself
Inward around the sun.
Season after season
Circling, around
The evolving celestial paths.
Until this too is but a memory of long ago
When the COVID viruses used to roam the earth.
And this too shall one day pass into history. For there is a part of us that will always remain eternal and never die.
Some would burn the home
To end the vipers lurking in the walls;
Take no care for ruining their shelter,
Panicking and distraught, destroying helter-skelter.

Some would attempt to live in peace
While the lurker steals their sleep.
Thinking vipers are just natural things,
Allowing them to rule their lives like kings.

Some would study the serpents to know
Where they hide; where they go...
Then **** them when they leave their lair,
And plug the villains' holes.
Trouble shooting a little today. How to rid ourselves of COVID-19?
David felt the emptiness
Of his bowl,
The House,
His kitchen sink,
Felt the weary settling in.

On the table
After the dish and fork,
His Bible, worn,
Lay open:
"I will never leave you,
Nor forsake you."
The pages, marked and stained,
Seemed dry
In the after-dinner hour.

Echoes in the house tonight:
His bare feet skiffering the floor,
The water running in the sink,
The creaking bed and rustling sheets,
The refrigerator sighing below,
Echoing into the bedroom
Through the empty hall.

Her side,
His side,
The old rules of halves:
Yours/Mine...
Empty now
Either side his.
Yet shuffling to the far side
By the window,
He let himself in,
Slid his tired weight
Between sheets.

Once in,
Let his leg,
His foot reach over
to the emptiness
Of cold sheets
And a flatness
Lonely for her indentation.

Arising sleepless
He wandered out,
First to the toilet and sink,
Then to the kitchen for a drink,
Then to the window,
Then the door,
And out into the yard.

The lowland bog alive:
Spring peepers chorusing,
A nighthawk veering air,
Crickets cheering to stay warm,
Beside, before, and all around,
The night was filled with sound.

"Where have you taken her?"
His eyes searched the stars,
Silent in their astral lofts.
"Where have you gone?"

Chill of night - Mid-eastern spring,
Night air pungent - earth and rain
His woman gone - this lonely man
Hopes for rest - perhaps a dream:
Of them together - balmy weather.
Thinking of long-time family friends, David and Esther Scoville. This is his third night alone. Woke at 2:30 AM thinking about those first nights alone, after the going, before the funeral, and the journey onward....
(Before Covid 19)

I distance you
Because I hate you!

(After Covid 19)

I distance you
Because I love you!
After hearing the advise if you are caring for fellow citizens too distance yourself from them
Nana tells stories;
Papa reads books;
Mommy cooks me dinner;
Daddy makes me toast,
And we all joy together!

She made this up while swinging at the park, which is finally open again in our little town.
