The safest place is supposed to be my dreams
but it seems that's when the devil
tends to attack me most
Comforting warmth and sleepy slumber
disturbed by horrific fear
caught beneath my throat
and expelled in blood curdling
screams

I'm afraid
to go to sleep
because of all the nightmares
in my head

Watching as all of daylight dies,
a gentle smile hiding a ****** knife,
come and look upon the lord of the flies.

Everyone fell deaf to the hundreds of cries,
the vast oceans filled with turmoil and strife,
watching as all of daylight dies.

A tender kiss for you who spreads rabies,
you who keeps the dead children safe,
come and look upon the lord of the flies.

We celebrate your clear abnormalities,
you who relished burning down that café,
watching as all of daylight dies.

Why should we care for a family of nobodies?
Who received an early trip to the afterlife,
come look upon the lord of the flies.

We watch you, casting away tragedies,
smiling at how you, the simple farmwife,
watching as all of daylight dies.
Come and look upon the lord of the flies.

The noise slows down around us
And I don’t know you
And you don’t know me
But your lips are all I can see
And your hand is heavy on my back
The heat between our bodies
The pressure rising and the water overflowing
Suddenly you’re vulnerable
I trace the arc you draw along my forehead
Sliding my hair over and
I open my eyes to graceful green marbles
Staring down at me
You lift me up and breathe hard
Suddenly you’re inside me
And I imagine for a second
This moment means more than tonight
And that ******* you is beautiful
And I don’t have to be scared for tomorrow
And this can feel good and I won’t feel bad
But when you wake
I’m just another girl
And when I wake
You’re just another wish

I remember the first time I slept
By your side;
Before our slumber
Our faces, merely inches from each other
Examining every perfection

So glad of my selection,
I turn away, lay my head and rest.

I hear your shuffle of body parts
As you relax by me,
The shale of your body caressing mine
I feel warm, safe,
My heart is so happy, even still

I awake, for you brushed my face
Unknowing that you'd wake me
I turn and stare
Into those oceanic eyes
Beautiful ice etched into your
Iris'; I look and see
The light of day strike through the window
Our few moments alone in the earl of the morning,
I find my deep love.
In you.

Daylight holds the darkest of darkness,
Shadows lurk behind tree's;
Dogs growl at sunlight
Nervousness, quivering at the knees.

Shadows lurk behind tree's;
Sunlight;  dances upon the leaves
Nervousness, quivering at the knees
Smiles broad; teeth askew.

Sunlight, dances upon the leaves
Birds fall freely from the sky,
Smiles broad; teeth askew
Eye's dart back and forth.

Birds fall freely from the sky
Dogs growl at sunlight
Eye's dart back and forth,
Daylight,  holds the darkest of darkness.

I watched 2am turn to 3am.
Everyone losing an hour of sleep,
and myself losing an hour of lying in my bed, thinking about you.
