"Pain turns hope into scars that burn"* ~~ *Rose

Painfully aware
Of things I see
And I do not dare
Touch what I believe
One single caress
And hope diminishes
What you're left with
Is empty promises
And unfulfilled wishes
The remnants of faith
Are simply ugly markings
Left upon your body
Causing a fire of darkness
And smoke rising
Made of sadness
That disappears
Into the atmosphere
Until you're left with...

Absolutely nothing
Quoted line from "I Killed Her" by Rose, for Frank's "Let's Do A Line!" challenge. This was the first poem I recall reading from Rose and I've been hooked on her poetry ever since then, thanks for the inspiration ***, love ya. :)

I died waiting for you to come alive.
Now that you have come to life
I need to be revived.
I shouldn't have waited
for you to arrive.
Watched my dreams fly by;
my existence became a lie.
So many tears I cried
praying you would see the light.
I emptied my soul
while you were blind
Finally you arrive
in your own time.
My heart is cold
watching our fateful story unfold.
So sorry that I have died
waiting for you to come alive
I've flatlined.

See you on the other side.
I need a defibrillating charge straight to my heart

I'd rather write poems than do math
I'd rather exercise my soul than my body
I'd rather learn about Plato than the Industrial Revolution
is it too much to ask for an education system that
actually lets me pursue
my own dreams?

i feel like people forget that humans can die naturally.
i mean we're all so used to cancer taking our loved one's lives but
some people just sleep and don't wake up again and
i somehow manage to find that type of death beautiful.
is this horrible?  i can't tell
