The Lonely Poet
I look at someone else's poem
And I see flawlessness.
I look at my own
And I see nothing but flaws.
I write poetry to get away from the bad feelings.
Not to make more.
And it's hard.
Everything is hard.
I've become hard.
Hardened to the beauty of the world.
Hardened to the beauty of poetry.
All I can focus on is my own writing
As I try to be as good
As you.

I'll hurt myself
before you get
the chance.

I never realized
How easy it could be
To lose yourself-

I stopped taking time for myself,
Gave myself to others,
Piece by piece.

Every time I put the puzzle back together,
Another piece was missing.
Or perhaps stolen.

One day I will no longer exist.
In silence
diamond drop shaped tears
Falling  down .
Sparkling the cheeks
The child sits down on the floor .
In the silence of the dark.
An  innocent  little one in pain.
For whatever for
Who will pay the price.

Many children all over the world are in pain!

A new year a new me
The mantra of the masses
But people rarely ever change
Unless it really matters
So let’s have a real new year
Don’t set the silly goals
Just pledge to do the best you can
And keep a happy home

inked solace
Is it worth it to give in to your problems?
To all the struggles of your life?
Because there are people out there who need you
As a sibling, a friend, a husband, or a wife

Sometimes we’re caught in a storm
Waves crashing all around
And we forget that we can swim
We don’t have to drown

“You have to move, get up.”
“I don’t want to.”
“This is sad you need to get over yourself.”
“I’m broken, and I don’t think I can be fixed.”
“Then fake it. Get up and put on a smile.”
“It hurts too much; I just want to cry.”
“No crying! It’s not worth it.”
“But I just can’t let go…”
“You have to move on. It’s the only way.”
“Please, all I want is five minutes to let it all out.”
“You’re pathetic. Fine. Five minutes.”
“Thank you,” said the heart.
“You’re welcome,” said the mind.
And the heart and mind cried together.
Just for five minutes.

I brushed my teeth,
I reduced my intentions,
I got slightly obsessed,
I had a moment of stubborn silence,
Changing into a penetrating loneliness,
Just in time for lunch.
