Ink flows on the page
Whispers of stories so bold
Time held in each line
Revealing past deeds untold
Words act as a guage
Of our thoughts, from young to old
Baring through the age
When gazing on words untold
By turning each page
Growth of ideas unfold
Structured as a 5:7:5 haiku, but I tried to make it rhyme.

The moon rises high into the night.
Casting reflections across the rain soaked streets.

Images of you walking away is all I see.

I chase you through the ripples,
disappearing beneath my feet.

I chase you through the dawn
until your reflection is just gone.

And through tears I wonder,
Will you ever return to me?

Or will your reflection
haunt me forever,
within my memories.
trying to work through some writers block
maybe not my best work.

Close the door
slip the latch and let it fall
I am sad to say farewell
but I must leave you all,
imagine me at peace
freed from earthly things,
I am the autumn breeze
a winter wind that sings,
I am rain, I am sky,
a part of everything,
we did not say goodbye,
I am summer, I am spring
blossom, light as air,
don't think of me as gone
look around and I’ll be there
I have written this for my dad's funeral, which is in a couple of weeks

When light falls
To horizon’s brink,
Brave legacies rise
From the darkest ink.

When all is dark,
And gold weeps bleak,
Abysmal words
Reflect what we seek.

I finally got it in italics!

The dangerous thing for me is that I would die and excruciating death a thousand times just to make them smile once
And then I'll apologize if my screams from getting burned alive disrupted their sleep
The ones I love and care about
