Wake up,  wake up
a new day has begun

Wake up,  wake up
it's time to greet the sun

Wake up,  wake up
and see these skies of blue

Wake up,  wake up
I'm so in love with you
I know it sounds Hallmark like but
I woke up with this in my head
and had to write it out

Searching for the salty stinging
I find myself breathing deeply
The same lament I keep singing
While caged, I flutter weakly

"Beyond the hill, beyond the glen
Beyond the plains, beyond the fen
I hear her voice lilt and sway
And all my pain is washed away
She sings secrets no man may tell
Through the modest magic of a shell
Between the land, beneath the sky
O lover hear my lonesome cry
Sing out to me, the song of the sea
Draw me out where I should be
Among the waves, among the spray
Not in the cove, nor in the bay
Take me where I am free
Sing me back to the sea"

A step a splash and water flies everywhere
Drops fly but in glistening fragments of lights
Peals of laughter shake the air with joyful music
They fade in time and then, silence
Alone once again on a well walked path
Trees on either side lean gentle in the wind
For a moment, only a moment the clouds that darken
Both the  mind and the sky are driven away
One action of spontaneous restless desire
Creating a smile that tunes into a laugh
To unleash the floodgates of  emotionless mirth
A quickly fading memory of childish humour
Though that moment, as brief as it is
Takes me in her arms and leaves behind a memory
To be held to and treasured, grinned at foolishly
For the light that shines on that random puddle
Is mine now, offered to live on in my mind
For i know it will be dark again, and soon
Thought to laugh for only an instant, a moment
In the childish way abandoned by adults
Is to give hope for a better world.

Lately I have lost time…
minutes and hours,
moments of the day pass by
without notice

I arrive at places not knowing
how I got there
I have held conversations
but can’t recall speaking

Watched the sun rise in the morning
and then set again that afternoon,
unable to remember
anything in between

Found myself wondering
where has the day gone,
what have I been doing,
it seems like nothing

Except constantly thinking about us,
these wonderful daydreams
of you and me…
what we could be doing

Days at the beach, candle lit dinners
walks in the park, quiet nights at home,
holding hands in the moonlight,
skipping stones at the lake

Dancing until dawn, morning coffee,
kissing on the veranda, sleeping in,
making love in the rain, counting stars,
falling for each other over and over again…

There, you see, it has happened again,
I just wrote this poem, I think
and my only recollection is
another moment lost in thoughts of you

One has to speak their language - Cats
a snotty, snooty breed
Don't try to tell them what to do
Don't get them down when they are treed

They'll come down when they want to
when they hear the opening whirr
where can opener meets cat food
they'll walk out of that tree as if it wasn't there
and swish their tail as if to say
"it's nothing"

But, Oh, the softest love they have
when on your lap they softly purr
or stroking all that silky fur
and all the stress of passing days
so soon becomes a milky haze
and flys away, forgotten now
She loves you dear, there is no doubt
Adopt a pet today... there are so many, so many who need a home and love. they were put here for us to take care of
