The sun loved the moon
Hinted the moon of its sight
With a dying light.

I held her hand as she wept salt seas
I stood in front to protect her from the bees
I let her break my heart into shattered pieces
I became her research project as she wrote her thesis
I allowed her to consume my every thought
I took the blame if she did wrong and got caught
But in all honesty, I must surely confess,
I treasured the world less and less
Saw beauty only in her
Even amidst the sight of wonders to occur
Because I just wanted her head on my chest
As she slowly lays to rest.

Poets, we fall harder than others
We take blows that football players
Could never understand
Because we take internal damages,
We fight off emotional savages,
But we are different.

Different than what society created
Because we are the result
Of what we as poets choose to create
So would you cease and halt
At the thought of a dagger into your heart
Or would you turn it into a work of art?

My heart screams at me
It's reverberating the words
'She's perfect', let her know
But my mind, my mind clouds
The words that come from
My heart.
My mind is telling me,
'If you do, there's no going back',
So I let my mind
Silence the thoughts that my heart
has created.
I let my mind
Silence the ***** that keeps me alive.
I ask myself daily now
'Will I ever be more than a struggle
Between heart vs mind? Will I ever
Be able to choose my heart like
A dog chooses to fetch a stick
Without any actual commands?'
If I were to let my heart choose,
It would say ' Go tell her you
really really think she's beautiful',
so I go and do that but what
I'm really trying to say is
'I don't think any part of me
Can enjoy life as much as it
Has without your company'.

I want to say I love you but
I don't know where the line cuts
Between liking you
And loving you
Between beating red blood
Or beating blue,
I'm confused
Over what's the correct hue
Because when I say I love you,
What does that mean to you?

Does I love you
Mean I'll end up wifing you
Or we'll make one from two.
Does I love you
Means if you speak your words
Like 'wash the dishes' they'll be heard
Or is it more of a proverb,
'Like you can lead a horse to the lake
But you can't make him drink the water'.

I think my I love you
Is a complete different view,
It's a taste
Of sweet sugar on a rainy day,
The taste
Of cake eaten yesterday,
It's sweet.
It's more than sweet though,
It's a sight,
It's an array of lights to form a show
Like how I'll show you my life lighting up
When you repeat those same I love you's.
My I love you's
Is a sound
Not the rattling of chains
To keep two souls bound
But the sounds of bells
That gets dented and dinged by cupids arrows.
My I love you's
Is the smell of fresh roses
That tickles the noses
And shows how I'll keep you closest.
My I love you's
Are more than that,
Because even I don't know my I love you's
Because it's a sentence
I haven't put meaning to,
Not until I finally met you.

neon signs are visible tonight,
our fingers interwine
we watch as the stars shine,
then your lips meet mine,
and i swear i felt our hearts allign
it was only nine,
but my oh my i was already drunk off of your love,
**you're divine like the galaxies above.
"in which a girl falls in love, with a boy whose eyes shined like the stars above."

She
She wears waterproof mascara
Just so it doesn't dribble and dab
Across her face.

She wears a beautiful smile
Just so her soul remains partially
Intact with others.

She wears heartaches
Across her sleeves
In the form of tears.

She wears sadness
In her mind and heart
Until she is worn out.

Her body,
The canvas of each poem she couldn't write.
Each cut of a blade,
Each edge of a razor,
Each ink of a bleeding pen,
Each pierce of a broken page
Spells out all her unread poems titled-
'Maybe this is better...'
