Yesterday* you passed away.
No matter what I say..
It doesn't take the pain away..
You were my teacher..
No matter how bad you were treated..
You still were amazing.
And I want to thank you..
Wherever you are.
And you are always in my heart.
This poem is about Karla Topinka.. An amazing teacher who only loved what she did. Rest in peace Mrs. Topinka.

I can fake my identity and try to look happy,
but its all just a cover.
Take a swig from the flask and remove the last mask
only to find another.

There was once a time when I knew myself,
but now I'm not so sure.
All semblance of self-worth lay eroding in the dirt,
and its all thanks to her.

It's not really her fault, I'm truly to blame.
I grew selfish out of fear.
Afraid of being alone, I couldn't let her go
and now she's nowhere near.
A quick freestyle that I did.
this day’s furor
is sinking fast
another day
waits in the wings
without
you in it.
The stark truth of  his absence  in our lives. Written  2006.
What if the Moon was a Triangle
The Sun was a Heart
The Stars were Circles
The Earth was an Oval
And We were all Rectangles
Unable to figure out
How to hold Each Other
Without becoming Squares
i wrote a poem.
it was like our time, short, sweet
but now its over.
It was a little bit like love.....inevitable.
Stuck in the land of perplexity
Untying labyrinthine cherry  knot on
Thorny mountains and alleys
I've got a war in my mind
Throwing dice flipping coins
Sometimes he let his eyes rest on hers, it needn't have been painful,
but it strangely was.
He broke a lifetime of avoiding eye contact to show her.
She was worth overcoming obstacles for.
My days ago
are piled
with excess.

My days ahead,
clouded
with letting
go.

This day today,
empty
as the bottle
laying next
to me.

And there's
no way
to grow
young
again.
