The best poems
are the shortest ones
Sabrina Jun 2017
In the silence or the city streets
your presence always covers me.
Sabrina May 2015
All you ever do is whine
if you don't quit, I'll lose my mind
I'm getting tired of this game
your snide remarks are such a shame
your attitude is really sour
do you think it gives you power
you're very stubborn and pretty rude
your sense of humor is also crude
please leave, you are not welcome here
I feel it's me you should start to fear
Sabrina May 2015
I wonder what the stars dream about
do they worry, do they pout
do they watch us from above
and look upon us with lots of love
to be honest, I do not know
they're enigmatic- feelings do not show
they shine so bright in the sky
they're full of secrets but they're shy
I wish I knew more about the stars
I wish I could find out who they are
they look at me and I look back
so much knowledge do I lack
I eagerly await  that special day
when I will be able to say
I learned so much and figured them out
I am no longer filled with doubt
Sabrina Mar 2017
The whispering waves were half asleep
the birds had gone to play
and in the trees and in the deep
the smile of nature lay.
Sabrina Dec 2014
Tick Tock
says the clock
Falls the rain
of her pain

Soaked in red
All upon her bed
Trickling onto the floor
Mercilessly spreading the gore

Written with a pen
and sealed with a kiss
oh, look, here's a plot twist

The pen is a razor
and the canvas is her wrist
Her eyes start to close
as she fades into the mist
my least favorite poem of mine
Sabrina Mar 2015
Success

achieving

you

Sabrina Jun 2016
Two years have passed
we both have changed
but we're here at last
it wasn't arranged

It's been a while
but we're here again
I've missed your smile
my dear old friend

You've grown a lot
and so have I
who would have thought
you'd be my guy

paddling out into the deep blue
and smiling in the sun
I've fallen so hard for you
during these days of fun

Our days together are numbered now
I wish it wasn't so
by my heart can allow
space for you, my beau

You make me feel so light and free
like no one has before
when I'm with you, I can simply be
and never worry about more.

I plug in my ear buds and let the world fall away
the ambient beats free my mind from the petty problems of reality
if only I could remain forever in this quiet limbo
offered by my musical realm.
Sabrina Aug 2016
And I was terrified
that maybe
I wasn't cut out
for this.
Sabrina Apr 2017
Replaying the moment
in my head
it's keeping me up
all night in bed
your lips pressed
to mine
can we just
go back in time
I look at you
and everything slows
Hold me tight
and don't let go.

There are just certain things that make life a little easier living. These things are listed below:

-The smell of pavement after rain
-The feeling of cool grass under bare feet
-Forehead kisses
-Watching the moon
-When your pet willingly loves you
-Daydreaming about something better
-Poetry
These are some of my favorite things
Sabrina Nov 2014
I walk outside and the harsh winds greet me
The combustible clouds are eager to meet me
Tears trickle gently from the sky
Pleading with silent cries
The leaves fall from the trees
Swaying and swooshing like the seas
The sky starts to yellow
Oh, how I am a silly fellow
For this is the calm before the storm
Sabrina May 2015
Love as defined in the dictionary: An intense feeling of deep affection.
Love as defined by 98% of others**: Painful.
I wish I fell in that 2%

Misunderstanding is everywhere I look
My entire life is starting to feel like a book
Not a book that has just begun
But a book that is well overdone
I ponder what holds for me in the next chapter
Certainly not a happily ever after
Oh, but look there's a twist
Something so easily missed
For my life is not a book
It is a sharp ***** hook
A hook plunged deep in my soul
Reeling me out for what life beholds
I am not ready to be on my own
I do not trust myself to be all alone
And what happens when you run out of line for your hook
It's the end of your story, the end of your book
Sabrina May 2015
Sometimes I get this feeling.
This feeling does not really have a name.
It is in the middle of my chest.
It is like my emotions are a rope.
The rope is strangling my heart.
It feels like it is about to explode
but it never does
It constricts my breathing and slows my thoughts
It almost hurts
Whenever I think of you
this feeling follows
All I want is for this feeling to go away
but at the same time
I need it
It reminds me I am alive.
This isn't really a poem, but more of an insight to the crazy thoughts I get at night.
Sabrina May 2015
It's everywhere
In my head
In my mind
In my dreams
In my nightmares
It's like a haze
except when it clears
it takes everything I love
with it.
Sabrina Dec 2015
Oh how much I yearn to write
my struggle must be such a site
I sit and wait while time goes by
but my words are just too shy
I guess I just need some time
in order to find the perfect rhyme
We all go through periods of strife
but that's okay; it' just part of life
We lose hope and we get sad
but that shouldn't prevent us from being glad
I found my words and I pulled through
I knew I could do it and you can too.
Sabrina Apr 2017
Walking towards the flame
to become forever changed
woven into this world
I can be free.
Sabrina Jun 2015
There was a perfect hole in the sky
Shaped just for the moon to say hi

It rested up there on this night
Watching over us, erasing fright

Its bright gleams shine down below
Showing you the right path to go

You look up and say thank you
Oh Moon, without you, what would I do
Sabrina May 2015
What does the number 7 stand for in life?

7 chances?
7 missed calls?
7 slow songs?
7 heartbreaks?
7 tears?
7 forgotten memories?
7 words never said?
7
My friends say I like the number 7.
Sabrina May 2015
I lost you

                                                                                and you weren't even mine

to lose
Sabrina Jun 2017
There a warmth that radiates within
every time my eyes see him
his inviting eyes and beautiful smile
makes me think I'll stay a while
I'm so used to being on the run
from all those who think I'm the one
Trust me, I'm not; I'm just passing some time
You should see me as a mountain not worthy to climb
I'll get out, go, and find someone like me
this is my dream, my eternal plea
But what if I get there and I waited too long
and it turns out all this time I've been wrong
Just start where you are and use what you've got
maybe then you'll see some change in thought
You're not the prize won at the end
by some long term, faithful friend
You're just a girl who's always running away
afraid of what you might find if you decide to stay
Step back, observe, and look at what you've become
an illusion to most, and a hero to none.
Sabrina Jul 2016
Constantly on the run
Running from the  pain you bring me
Running towards the love I yearn
Running
Running into the madness.
Sabrina May 2015
There once was a story
about the sun and the moon
They loved each other more than the Earth itself-literally
However, as hard as they tried, they couldn't  be together
At first, they tried to find loopholes
They experimented with eclipses, dusk, dawn, and even more things
One day the sun and the moon had to accept the fact
They could never be with each other
That is why once a month we do not see the moon
During that brief period, the moon cries
for the love he knew he could never have.
Sabrina Mar 2017
My heart feels constricted
and what I once found joy in
I find no longer
I need to spend some time apart
from people and start becoming
someone I can depend on.

I'm living in this dreamland
and you're living there too
I'm dreaming about us
and I'm dreaming about you

We're thousands and thousands
of miles apart
but every day
you're there in my heart

Every night
you're there in my head
keeping me up
awake in my bed

I'm reliving all our memories
and imagining some more
everyday I find more love
and into my heart it pours.
Finally.
Sabrina May 2015
My pen is running out of ink
I guess I don't have much time to think
there is so much I wish to say
but all these things are in my way
I think back to that summer night
just before we had the fight
it was so perfect then and there
a perfect moment that we shared
things got rocky at the end
but you said we'd still be friends
you and I know what that means
it doesn't call for a pretty scene
all the damage has been done
at least we had those nights of fun.
dang. my poetry is always so sad. I wonder why?
Sabrina May 2015
If I had three wishes, they would be:

1. Forget
2.Move on
3. Start Over

There is nothing
  that is more beautiful
    than the relationship
of the ocean and the shore

                          the ocean will never stop
                            kissing the shore
                              no matter how many
                                 times it is sent away

                                                                       You were the shore
                                                                         and I was the ocean.

Love hits you hard and it hits you fast.

Love is a hurricane that leaves no survivors.

I wish
there was
a way

to know
you're in
the good
old days

before they
become the
good old
days.
Sabrina Jun 2015
It was like time froze for those few seconds
It felt like we were the only ones on the planet
The only thing that mattered was that we were there,
together, in that moment
And I knew, as I stared into his deep green eyes,
that he was the only for me.
wrote this about a silly crush of mine years ago

Always the second choice,
never the first
maybe one day
the tables will be reversed.
Sabrina Aug 2015
I am a sinking ship
I've hit the iceberg
not just the tip
I am a sinking ship

I am a sinking ship
I'm crashing down
I've lost my grip
I am a sinking ship

I am a sinking ship
All hope is lost
there it slips
I am a sinking ship

I am a sinking ship
we've reached the end
of our trip
I am a sinking ship

Endure existence
Sabrina Jun 2015
I know that you are always there
I love to think about the things we share
Sad or happy, it doesn't matter
You pick up my heart when it lay shattered
May we stay friends for many moons
And our connection remain immune
a poem dedicated to a wonderful human being
Sabrina Sep 2015
Well,
things didn't work out like I thought they would
if you had tried harder, maybe they could
but for once in this world, it wasn't on me
you could have had me but you didn't see
how special I am and how I could love
every little thing about you and place you above
all the things that I imagined and deserve
but it's your loss, now my heart's on reserve
for the special guy who makes me smile
unlike someone like you who wouldn't go the extra mile
I'm really sorry that you  missed out
I hope this was worth all your doubt.
*Update: I liked a guy. I thought he liked me. Oops. I was wrong. ***** for him.
Sabrina Jul 2015
I found a tear in my favorite shirt
I do not understand why this hurts
it's just a simple piece of cloth
so why does this feel like such a loss
in this shirt I've been through a lot
pouring tears or deep in thought
I guess there's not much I can do
it's just your shirt, it is not you.
Sabrina May 2015
You might fall in love today but it's statistically unlikely.
Stay positive :)

Underwater
engulfed by waves
of emotion

I'm underwater
trying to swim up
and escape

I'm underwater
hope is washing away
I gasp for breath

I'm underwater
I'm drowning
Sabrina Feb 2016
Oh, what can I say about you, my dear
You're my one and only big brother
I am so happy when you are here
What would we do without each other
You're my hero, that's who you are
Regardless of whether we argue or fight
I love you more than the moon and stars
And more than day and night
Saying goodbyes are always tough
But I know I will see you again
No need to focus what is rough
You're my other half and my friend.

How do we know if a poem is untitled or if its title is "untitled" ?
Sabrina Apr 2016
The grass tickles my legs
As I step off the porch
And strain my neck
To look at the twinkling
Worlds above me

The sense of wonder
and mystery
overpower the sounds
of passing cars and
chirping crickets

This is my night
With the stars.
Wish you were here, Brill.
Sabrina Jul 2016
Brown eyes like liquid
set afire by the sun
swimming with curiosity
drowning in temptation
I spot this wet, dripping boy
on the edge of the pool
I rest with my face
buried in my warm arms
as I float in the pool
my eyes follow you
as you begin running
for the dive
Splash
with a rise of bubbles
you're floating beside me
a crooked, toothy grin you wear
your liquid eyes flow into mine
as you let a simple word
float from your wet lips
"Salut"

They all left
I don't want to be alone again
