 Oct 2017 betterdays
Inkveined
Don't listen to the voices, climb
Forget about old choices, climb
So what if it seems pointless, climb
Hoist a flag upon the mountain
Where you're done with struggling
Against yourself to start punching
Back, when
Life begins to push you around
Hard work's a crown
That may seem somewhat heavy but
You can turn depression upside down
Start gathering smiles from your frowns
Everything might be going wrong
But, cheer up!
Have the courage to stay strong
Step right past the emotional quicksand
Get yourself off the floor, and take a stand
Not a suggestion, a command
Because, once you do
You'll forget about feeling blue

when I thought
when I worried
when the moon
came up too early

when I saw all alone
on the edge
ruddy high above
sky so weary

like a dove
who had spied
war and flew
up above

to get normal
all alone
I got nervous

all alone all hurried
called above come save me
dove

she just cooed
looking down
so up high

and I was wingless
like a maize
you dry keep me
all these years
waiting in the coldness of time
pervading all suitors
just for your sake
love is a prison that holds
my heart
in you i served my sentence's days
now my wing spreads
your butterfly clime
under that sheets
cloud, blood of unstained skin
I give in joy
for you solidly deserved
tears of deep cycle
I do recall
same tears i shed
standing holding your bone
tears of joy you grow in me
as i bear your blood
till i part from my flesh
and wear anew skin
i am still waiting
for you like a maize

Poetic T
There were words scribbled in
pencil, on a singular piece of paper,
I folded into a paper plane...

Throwing it from the balcony of
my window, I was single never finding
love. But I threw my feeling out into
the world beyond my reach...

I waited for days, but never did my
thoughts fly towards me..
they must have statically landed
beyond the reach of other hearts..

Wrote within I had penned simply.
"If my heart glides to  you and you find
my words of merit, let your kisses envelope
my wings and glide back to the window of my heart"

Do you realize how far a paper plane laden with
emotions can fly, it never sank.. But floated on
the breath of loneliness, until it found a window
of opportunity. folded words were read upon.

Days had ventured past my window until a
letter fell though my door.. And with it words.
"Though you flew to me, I found it easier for
my words to walk to you doorstep an read my words"

When the walls of trepidation fell, and I saw the
mirror of my word I knew that my hart had flown
true. You were the wings of my thought and I was
the reflection that brought you to my heart.

our mothers tears fill a hospital ward
as a doctor summons the Chaplins call
last rites administer to this tiny newborn
thrice in five days you're destined to fall
born with a hole in such a delicate heart
yet no doctor nor cleric could recognise
this was to allow the world seep through
a shining eighth wonder of pale blue eyes
held on the sill outside a neonatal room
i saw with my soul a love birthed anew
dad he promised that you'd be home soon
there to the years of childhood we grew

the time had come for mam to say to me
sister was different in other ways as well
not for you was destined a desk at school
nor books would you read nor stories tell
innocence of the pure and purity of truth
special she said born of down syndrome
and yet would i never once see you down
for your smiles to me evoke only wisdom
now as you pass over your fortieth year
my sister i cherish all that we hold dear
for you are a family's jewel in it's crown
raising a world from love handed down
for my sister Siobhan, a shining eighth wonder of pale blue eyes

round a
corner
through
the dark of a forest's canopy
almost to the edge
of the boundary
you'll see it
at the turn of the river
it sets a glow
a turn of eye
you can't miss
follow
the sunburst in
the clouded sky
it will show you
where
fairies and urchins dwell
in peace
and tiny things good grow
gonna take  over the earth one day
this small place will
and make the world glow
