nymph in january
beating earth-heart
thaws soil
boots sink in mud and
flying ants spiral
to the sky
tiny glimmering wings
raindrops
snowdrops
drop dead
humming bugdream head
i thought it was spring, he said

sunscreen shimmers on your skin like siren scales
your hand, dirt under bitten nails, idly picks at the grass
and you fidget with the braided bracelet around your wrist

i try not to stare while you talk
so i don’t fall in love with
your velvet dark eyes,
the upturned corners of your soft lips
and the way your nose flares while you smile

you laugh like a prayer

Traveler
Whether a comma, or colon:
Punctuation slows my rolling
I need no period. When I end
no Capitalization when I begin
Rulelessly I flow my art
  Not a single!
Exclamation mark
Are you not the one
Who'll know?
Where a question mark
No longer goes

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads
Lover or hater
It's all poetry!

Hay
No matter who you are
You have my deepest respect!

Vanity
All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends
Flowing from our pens
And so we breathe again

If only the cars would come to a stop,
And all of the hustle and bustle.
The clock would cease ticking,
And the strident noise would turn into delicate silence.
For the world has stopped spinning.
The birds are no longer chirping.
But the wind is blowing,
Gently, gently...
And finally, a moment for me to rest.
A moment for me to breathe.
A moment of quiet.
A moment of peace.

I pick up my pen and paper
Trying to knead my words like a baker
My mind feels like strobing lights
Can’t even remember what I wanted to write

I looked up at the eye of heaven
And was gifted with some happy rays of shine
Radiant beauty she is

I smile as I witness her blazing glory
She exists with perennial power
Vast and vermilion

Don’t look into her eyes
For her splendor is too ethereal
Fierce as a warrior, a halo surrounds her

Her sweltering touch on my skin
Cancerous and deadly
But she is colossally exquisite

The clamor is way too heavy
I need to elope to my quiet place
Where everything is constant and serene
I’d lie to myself until
My world starts to spin
And I’m forced to face
My absolute reality

i got distracted
by your laugh

so, if there was a sign
at the border,
i missed it

all i know
is now i’m in a place
called love

and all the houses
look like you

Pointy shoulder blade
- yours - digging into my cheek
Comfortable pain.

Now you hold my hand
Fingers threaded between mine
Hold it forever.

Interlocking limbs
You draw me in closer still:
Don't ever let go.

Fingertips tracing
(Please excuse my sweaty back)
Painting words on skin.

Your lips against mine
Tongues searching for an answer
How it came to this.

Though we won't complain
Laugh it off in the morning -
Just please don't forget.
Something I wrote a while ago, all in haikus
