It is dark and I am at peace
Slithering into the whites of my eyes
The blackness sheets and covers my body
rippling its white hot way down my spine
somehow finding its way into my little black toenails
it drenches me with a sweat that gives me a sweet tingly sensation
down passed my bones;
soon the darkness will consume me.

The long shadow of seekers
drenched of mid-day suns
broken scattered
on this land of despair;

Walking nimble
on desiccated human skulls:

A father will not
return from work tonight.
Policeman, armyman, does it
matter, innocent everyman?
A child will be
orphaned and blighted tonight.

Eagles soar in the distance
obscured by fire and smoke
billowing from the assault
on our dreams and hopes.

Paradise -
dreamed of fanatical creeds;
Beyond which
is the graveyard of Gods.
Armed with hatred for the heathen and heretic, in peace do I come, truly, for my hatred is better than yours.

Hollow
My body is the sand
The water is your hands
Gently washing over me

Tides of pleasure pour over
Smooth skin
My soft curves

Do not stop
Trace your fingers through me
Mold me into your castle

Take me
Scoop me into your hands

*I yearn for this ******

Hollow
So bold in fields of cotton
Clad in trousers of a poor man
It's those times
Fire on his back
Hands callused with toil

He bends like a bow
Pulled tight across the horizon
The sun sets low
No dinner tonight

Hunger the diamond motive
Freedom the faintest dream
Awareness frightens him

Hope beaten out
Long ago
I got these scars
But they still burn

Marks to wear until death
Take me soon
Buried

*Freedom came at that price
Segregation and slavery are horrible things. It sickens me to believe this was a custom.

Tempo of descent
Smothered by abandonment
Bleeding is in vein

Night falls on still water;
The moon sleeps in the lake,
the birds fold their plumages,
And all things are at rest,
Lost in their silence.
I am still awake
With a whirlpool in the mind,
But soon I will sleep.
Silence is nothing but peace.
