Intent

A giving soul,
I see you
as you give away the pieces
of yourself to those
that need you.
I could take a lesson from that.
My only warning
is to be careful about giving yourself
to those that do not recognize
that pain never comes from the outside,
that they are responsible solely
for their own darkness.
Those people will **** you in,
swallow you whole,
digest your kindness
and turn it to dust.
Trust me,
I used to be one of them.
Sometimes I still am.
Wrote this morning. Couldn't figure out my intent with it, so wasn't going to post it.

But writing isn't about intention, is it?
Dreams end
when eyes open
to watch streams of light
coming through the window
and the heat is only starting.

through the midday
we forget what dream it was
that kept the smile in deep sleep
the rising temperature gets to head
and we realise we are too hopeful.

Simply by night
exhausted our thoughts
fighting sleep to have nutrition
to get back on the bed, have a sweet dream
wishing not to wake up, dream to no end.

Good memories
drip slowly through the mind
They are drops of spring rain
that fall on my shoulders
from the train bridge
above the sidewalk
where we talked
for hours

Sometimes I think I love best
from afar,
observing impossible conquests
from behind crowds
of maniacs on sidewalks.
Sometimes I love through written notes
to people in far away places.
When up close, reality stops
the imaginings.
I dream of far better love
than I live.

you me and
blue
transitions
and far off horizons painted with wishes
one day....
we always say

tracing palms with fingers
soothsaying or prophesizing
cards played
wide-eyed amazed
grazing at life's tender
shoots

when as always it all
is so much simpler
than the mortal life
absolves on
a daily day all
tormented coiled inside
are ten million squirms
for every cry

never one answer

but one eternal theme
that rose blossoms true
and the vernal winds cool
once came a blue
on a storm's distal
view

and for every glint
of the sun comes a
distant hologram on the eye
a corresponding elegant
glow that lasts

into your visage a sign
that not all life and reality is
destined at once
to be recognized
just take things at face value a wary grace
faith if you will

and see
the sky
blue

that's all  my wisdom
