Solomon smiled,
chanced a stretch and blew
the obligatory bubble
to the captive audience.

Solomon smiled
and formed his first proverb
of the day
concerning the foolishness
of worrying about anything.

Solomon smiled,
and after some deep,
wet-fingered thoughts
concluded that both love
and money
are best held on an open hand.

Solomon smiled,
and nodded along to songs
that he'd someday pen,
content for now to test his grip
on an offered finger.

Solomon smiled,
and settled into the joy of a hug,
in the warmth of a cuddle
and promised to anyone listening
that he'd live in the moment,
so long as it was a moment
such as this.

Father God smiled,
endorsed every thought,
every word
and promised Solomon
more of the same.
Written for a new arrival.
We're all kissing through masks
close, yet still
choosing to keep hidden
Personal, yet
oh so far away
Bodies touching delicately;
minds lightyears apart
I'm realizing a silence between us,
terrible and infinite
My lips practically beg for death,
anything at all, to escape the
fiery inferno that is you
You don't care as you scorch me,
you barely notice;
i can't seem to let go either
I'm obsessed with getting burnt
I crave the feeling.

I'm burning,
But that doesn't matter.
Because we're burning together.

all i want to do is talk to you
i wonder, do you want to talk to me too?
i have so many things to say,
but i do not want to waste your time every day.
i want to know your favorite food,
or what actions could put you in different moods.
do you prefer night or day,
is your birthday in march, april, or may?
we talked on the phone one night,
and my smile was so genuine and bright.
i knew you could not see me,
but when you can, i hope you don’t see what i see.
i too don’t want to move things too fast,
in fear that what we may have won’t last.
but i also want to rush into everything,
so you can give me pretty songs that i can sing.
you live so far but that’s okay,
i hope we’ll hold each other one day.
i believe we can do it, i truly do,
if we keep up this teamwork between me and you.

They speak lines in chalk and blackboard,
scolded for not following the stars, but
contrarian eyes long for lonely basement grime,
while being stuffed with plastic normalcy;
They search for a savior, an empty ivory tower
of coughed smog and candied pipe breath.

we drew coastlines along maps of nowhere,

Their love is chain links, decayed by daylight,
by a sun where only anti-rarity shines.
So slender bruises lace through skeletal smoke,
