The girl with the eyes
And red stripes for sleeves
They left her alone
And that's how she pleased.
She had not a face
But red screaming eyes.
She stared people down
Until they would cry.
She was like a disease,
More creature than not.
Cold flesh for skin
Eyes burning hot.
Don't look at her now
She'll give you the eye
And watch as you burn
She'll watch as you die.
And if you ignore
The fact that she's there.
She won't even know.
IT'S NOT LIKE SHE'D CARE.
Before freaking out or being disturbed by the context of this poem, I'd like to give some back story. I was rummaging through  my room and came across this poem. The date at the top of the paper seemed significantly familiar. I then realized that this poem was written the day before I was admitted into mental health care. It's hard to recall or even to comprehend what may have been going through my mind at the time. It's clear, however, that I was in a completely unhealthy state of mind and was a threat to myself and possibly  (without the intense care I received) to others. I am no where near 100% these days, and I'm not sure I ever will be. But I am also no where near the state of mind I was at the time this poem was written. I'm not suicidal and am considered mentally  stable. I'm so thankful for the help I received despite how painful it was. Thank you Dr. Walker, Dr. Weisman, and the legacy of Patch Adams.

Sighs escape my lips.
Tears escape my eyes.
You escaped from life, and now...
I wish we were side by side.

Even I'm not sure exactly who I wrote this about. Mainly, its about me missing my brother who died three years ago.

You say that I
Am a work of art

And I'll believe you
Because you know what?

That picture you drew
At three,
Where you can't tell if that blue blob
Is an elephant,
Your grandma,
Or just a blue blob

*That's art too

Look at me
Do you see my crying?
Just wait and see
Cause there's two of us dying
No it's plain to see
You need a transfusion
New life force to help you
Break through your illusion
Break through all the lies
That you've come to believe
All the lies that bring people
Down to their knees
They need some new life
A new heart to beat on
Beating and marching
Till their hearts are gone

Drop my hand my friend
It's really quite ok
This blood I give you freely
So you get through the day
I've drawn my blood on purpose
Dragged a knife clear and clean
The blood is coming freely now
And with it, please be freed.

You think my blood is on your hands
Think you're the one in foreign lands
But it's not on your hands
It's in your heart
Blood given freely's a form of art
No it's not a wound,
No scar will form
It's precise my friend
The way I've been torn
I've pricked myself clean,
The needle was true
This blood is a gift
This blood is for you.

My friend it's over.
There's not much to say.
To pull blood with syringes
You must pull away.
The blood's not on your hands. It's in your heart.
The colors of the sun run,
like damaged tapestries.
Painting the sky surrealistic
and I wonder what it means to me.
Light reflected from waters surface
glitters for a moment then refracts,
A million different directions
leaving more questions than it subtracts.
How many lives have sparked and died,
within the never ending depths?
The waves receive the query
and to the bottom it gets swept.
Guess I've been watching a lot of them lately.

Your not sane, your not rational.
Your just an animal.
Millions **** in the name of Mohammad or Jihad. That's not criminal.
It's beautiful.
It's not crazy to talk to somebody that's not there.
That's called prayer.

Listen to all I say
Don't do a thing on this day,
Don't eat ***** meat,
Most of all don't be gay.

Did you honestly think I was listening?
Did you honestly think I was caring?
I made lucifer and I made you.
The only difference between those two,
One is a cover up, the other is stupid,
One is ***** lie, the other thought it true,
One is me and the other is you.
