alone in a void
hidden from reality
your dreams gasp for air.

calm, as my soul flees
it's never wanted to stay
it was trapped inside

values I hold dear
not the same ones you embrace
worth the same amount.

dogs birthday bashes
cupcakes , presents, party hats
candles,  ice cream , cake

lines etched in my face
names on the tip of my tongue
arms too short to read.

leaves twirl and dance
sunlight brings colors to life
purple , gold and green
