pearls
are my favourite
of all my jewels.
the way they're made,
from scratching, slashing, ocean water splashing fuels
intricate transformation, done in no haste,
but time.
not one is the same,
just like my curls.
Inspired by the painting by a Dutch artist: Johannes Vermeer, novel and amovie - and of course, my pearls.

Blue Sapphire
I was once curiously asked:
"Why write poetry?
Does it pay the bills?"

I replied with a smile:
"It does far more than that -
it heals."
Leafy boughs
Cradle the sol
Into calm repose

Agnes de Lods
A chaos of multiple languages
overloads my system,
and the blackout hits hard.

An hour is still an hour,
or is it transforming into something else?
In French, they say l’heure, so sensual
Italian ore speak in tasty sounds.

But what if I want to choose
Spanish tres horas?
I miss the Polish godzina so much
moving my mother tongue's rhythm.

I need more space in my brain
My head is so heavy,
My heart enjoys moments like
a child on a playground

Making my language smoothie
I feel chromatic delirium.
Spinning through a galaxy into a black hole.
I should have listened to my mother
telling me, Agnes, do one thing!

At midnight
I will scare myself
into the new millennium

with dates
and charts
and graphs

about fractions
and formulas
and fundamental folly

all because
some genius thought
that in the grand scheme
of things
