Sisterhood
Sisterhood is not that fancy
There may be way
Each of your toes curl when you eat a good meal
How significantly brown your eyes are
Those long intricate conversations
How long and streaky the hairs on your head are
How you put your leg in front of the other impatiently
The way you hold each others hand when crossing the street
How many scoops you each like and the colour of your ice-cream cone
How you try to divide anything and everything
Or how you long for your sister when she is not there
But sisterhood is not that fancy
It's the inability to get your voice heard
The many tears
How less of your opinion counts
The silent whispered conversations when everyone thinks you are sleeping
How some mistakes are more permanent than others
Sisters by chance ,friends by choice

Broken crayons still colour
Broken crayons do colour
They might have snapped me on the inside
But my ends
My ends still colour
Yes I may not tell the story like others do
But my story still matters
My story is quite unique
But we are all still made of the same wax
Some of us just have a lot to lose
Our lights are not as bright as others
We walk half empty,half full
We faced battles much earlier
We are much hollow
But my ends still do colour
You see I might be able to be repaired on the inside but I still do colour
I colour much more carefully not trying to smudge the edges
I colour much harder than you do
But I still colour
Beacause my ends still colour
I might be snapped in the middle
But broken crayons still colour

Nene
Nene
I wonder if you knew what a gem you are
Did you know thar you were going to bring a whole nation together?
You are beyond glorified
Your stark brown eyes, gentle smile and your uncreased milky skin
Bring your soul to life
We will forever want your side of the story
I wonder how you felt
When you realised it was all happening
When you screamed and hoped that someone would hear you
When the walls of that office caved in
Did you ask,"why me?"
You see Nene
You brought out
The truth
You remind us that all the beautiful girls of this country are not insignificant
You remind us that life is our birth right
Uyinene
Rest in peace Angel
This poem is for the beautiful Uyinene who lost her life due to Gender Based Violence.

If loving you is wrong
Dear crush

Lord knows how much I pray for you.

It is the thought of us not being able to be together that keeps me fired up.

It triggers me that you can love someone you totally do not not know

Dear crush

You do not know of my existence

But you have a room rented in my mind

I say rented because I kick you out sometimes

But you come right back and sit comfortably

You are button cute

I love coffee by the way

So you definitely know how I feel about you

I am obsessed with your big eyes

Your beautiful smile too

Dear crush

I love the passion you have for what you do

I saw you have a dog

I am a great dog-sitter

Lastly...

Dear crush

I saw that you are a complete nerd

I am a nerd too

We can have nerd babies

Our starsigns are a match

But it is the thought

That I could possibly have someone who loves me more than I love myself

That keeps me falling for you.

Essence
I hope you get to a point
Where you love yourself abundantly
May you embrace the ends of your hair
The space between your teeth
The span of your hips
And the flutter of your lashes
May you celebrate your acne prone face
Since we tend to only recognise smooth and shiny skin
May confidence peek through your stretchmarks
May you find happiness in your melanin overload or underload
I hope you can stand in the mirror and be okay with your weight
I hope you do no pin point any faults
May you get undesirable glow
May you find true contentment with your inner being
You are who you are
And you are for a reason
You are magnificence spelt out
You are beautiful.
May you remember that you are a true reflection of Gods perfection

Shear
Even without the mask baby you still beautiful.
Your quirkyness lights up a whole galaxy, with that light in your eyes.
I see them adoring your style, they all turn their heads when you walk in .
And maybe you don't see it but they do. Like a shear spring butterfly
