meerkats are clever of that there is no doubt
they live in congregation and one who is the scout
looking out for danger so he can warn the pack
back in to there burrows they will all run back.

they look for any insects for there little treat
scorpions and spiders that they love to eat
they can see for miles when standing in the air
with  there perfect vision looking everywhere.

they are very close a great big family
roaming round the desert with a life so free
No
no way
this can't be happening
how could it be
why
why did you die
how could you
leave us alone
a feast to the lions
a feast to the devil
you disgusting creature
and you call yourself a man?
you're not even a human being
just a piece of rotting shame with two legs

a feast to the lions
a feast to the devil
The beating continues
Until...
Morale improves.
My love for you is blind
So how can I make you see it?
I'm only trying to bury the pain
Only trying to save you from it
I want to give you a safe place to hide
Maybe you could find it
If you looked deep enough in my eyes
There has to be something you can believe
Just let go of your defenses and
Come to your senses for me
What we have is so strong

I'll come to you if only in a dream
I'll rescue you like you saved me
We are damaged at best
Falling apart sometimes
Barely breathing with tightened chests
But in the pain I hope you find the healing
you need
All the lights are catching up to you now they are fleeting
And you can't put your insomnia to sleep
Because when you close your eyes all you see is
Someone you think you're never going to be

Let me bring you back
Let me make it right
If you crash and burn
At least we know you tried and
When you crawl the lessons learned
Will remind you how you survived
Silence is screaming in your face
Your past comes to haunt you in bad dreams
tonight
I know you wish to take back what you've done
But you can only change the person who you've become
And find a way to leave it alone

I know you're hurt and scarred
If only I could tame your mind and heart
I'm sure you thought it was going to be easier than this
I see your burdens
And they are too much for one man to carry
So just bury them inside of me
It's all so shallow and appealing
When you're over your head and drowning
In a sea of sarcastic faces and familiar places
Everything looks the same to you
It's confusingly amusing, bitter, and tainted
The picture in your mind that you've painted

I just want to take away all you have known
Everything you cannot have
And if you ever need some other love
I'll give you more than you can stand
You walk a thin line
Between what is and what could be but in the end
There's a crack in your crown
And it feels like your sand castle is crumbling down
Your head is filled with fairy tales
You've built yourself a pretty cage
Made of false expectations, illusions, and dreams
With all my strength I just want to bend your bars
                                                                                         And set you free....

Sleep
My body lays silent,
yet my dreams are violent.
So I toss and turn,
ending in a deep
and dreaded slumber.
waking in a pool of sweat and fear,
I don't want them to know,
what goes on in here.
...
Talking in my sleep,
but no one will ever answer.
...
But what was the question again?

During the very earliest 1900s
A little boy walked a gravel road
With his grandfather.

The old man kept whittling him
Birch shoots that he whipped at
Weeds with, before he threw them

Aside; ready for another. "Cut me a
Whip, grandpa." "Cut me another."
The old man obeyed smiling.

The man was my great-great
Grandfather. The boy,
My grandfather's oldest brother.

I grew up walking
Those same gravel roads.
Whipping.
I can still hear it sometimes
the sharp trill of your laugh
at something I've done or said
the giggle behind your voice
as you mock me for it.

I can still see it sometimes
the lines that form so quickly
when you smile
the light in your eyes
when I've done something sweet for you

I can still taste it sometimes
the gentle musk of your lips
barely parted against mine
the muffled breath
as you whisper tenderness

I can still feel it sometimes
the pounding of your hear
when you held me close afraid i would slip away
But i did not slip then i went
rather i was shoved
Not by pulled by some new face
not fallen out of interest
but shoved, by none other than you.

And sometimes i can feel that too.
I'm bent, not broken,
Hear the words that are spoken.
There is this pain I go threw,
If only someone knew.
From my back to my hips,
I feel like i  may trip.
Some one catch me...
One..Two..Three..
I'm gone ..I'm gone
Now you'll move on..

A baby
speaks
and we
just nod
and agree,
for we
don't speak
baby, their telling you that you'll be woken at 3:30am not pm wait and see.

All your promises,
Each whispered "I love you",
Every smile, every kiss,
They've pressed my heart to a page.
Your careless words
Have lovingly tucked me away
Between the pages of your life
A mere prologue for you.
Once beautiful and alive,
Now all that is left of me
Is a withered smile,
Like an old flower,
Pressed to a page.
