The Little Beauty
Samreen Nov 2017
Under the blue sky, sunshine bright
On the carpet of green grass rolled out,
Running around was the little girl in white
In her tiny pink shoes, humming about.

Her big, round eyes filled with innocence
And those soft pink lips spread in a smile.
Her sparkly laughter depicts divine presence
Dancing on her tip-toes gracefully agile.

Those soft brown curls around her round face
A few strands reach down that sweet dimple
Her little white gown frilled with lace
In this huge world, her life so simple.

Bent over a lovely flower, she sighed
Admiring the nature's beauty around her,
'Mama, oh! Mama...', excitedly she cried..
Jumping, as the evening doves surround her.

I stood at a distance, taken by her charms,
'Mama..', she said again and ran into my arms.

Angel of Life
Samreen Nov 2017
On a lonely road, in this dark night
I walk as slowly as one might
Moving along, I walked on and on
The happiness in my life was long gone.

I come to top of the bridge
Carelessly moving towards the edge
But a little hand stopped my fall
I turned to see who stopped me after all.

Small and angelic face of a small boy
He let go of my hand and held on to a toy
"Are you sad?" the little, pure soul inquired
His eyes held me there, to look away I tried.

A strange glow around him, was bright as a day
'Keep courage and have hope' his eyes seemed to say
I looked beyond the edge, to the river down there
And turned back to answer him but he just wasn't there.

I turned around and looked about but he was nowhere
He just seemed to have vanished into thin air
He had come and gone away, all on his own
And then again he was gone, leaving me alone.

I crane my neck and look up at the high sky so far
And I see a little but a bright shining star
The little kid had come to me I think for a cause
For now I know a 'God sent angel' he was.

A tear
Samreen Nov 2017
It fell into my hand,
Small and shining it was,
A round sparkling droplet
Of her tear, it was.

Her silent sobs let out,
Into the equally silent night.
Her mouth as if she wanted to shout,
But her tears so hard she was trying to fight.

Her face red, her eyes watery,
Her nose bloated, red like a cherry.
Under the sky, below the stars,
Far away on the street, honked the cars.

Sounds of the water hitting the rocks
Watching the waves reaching the shore.
Her expressive eyes, told so much
Maybe she thought, "life wasn't like this before."

Gentle breeze blew, her long hair flying,
Tickling my face, her beautiful essence...
I stood there, a silent spectator,
Totally unaware she was, of my presence.

The moon above, round, shining bright,
I touched her shoulder, "Are you alright?"
She turned to me with frightened eyes and walked away in fear,
Leaving behind in my hand, that droplet of her tear.

Rebuttal
Samreen Nov 2017
The harder you push,
The harder I fight back.
Calm and peace, in a rush
I guess, is what I lack.

You call it back answering,
I feel it's self-defense.
Your anger is transferring,
Replacing my common sense.

You always love maligning me,
Doesn't it mar your integrity?
I won't back down, as you can see,
I'll always uphold my dignity.

What I fail to realize is that
In this game of losing and winning,
My fight, I feel, is for good but
The Satan in me is grinning.

How much ever hard I try,
Virtuous be the intention of what I do
Resolute I am, refusing to cry
Vexation, the reason I am becoming you.
