Where do you go
When your house
Is no longer a home
When you no longer feel safe in your bed
Because you can hear their words
And your cheerleaders
Are the ones holding you back

Where to you turn
When you supposedly greatest supporters
Become your greatest critics
When the gossiping girls in the bathroom
Have insults
That seem like elementary insults
Compared to the things you hear at home

When do you decide
Enough is enough
When they are to afraid to repeat their words
To your face
When you can't tell them things
For fear they will use it against you

When do you decide it is time to spread your wings
And leave the nest that has become a death trap
It doesn't matter if I can or cannot fly
I would gladly plummet downwards
As long as I escaped

When do you finally stop denying
What once were your parents
Are now simply your
"Legal Guardians"
This probably seems shallow and I understand it is a total FWP but I am sick and tired of my sister "reporting" back to me about things they said about me while I was gone. And that my parents keep telling me what is important and to stop writing, which is one of the only reasons I keep breathing and the one thing I know I will do after I graduate. I am really sorry for wasting your time in reading this.
Why do you write asked the stranger
why do babies scream I replied

because we will not be silenced.

You can tell us to be quiet
you can put us in cages
you can cause harm to us
but we will not be silenced

I write to express myself
I write to be heard
because no matter what you do
I will not be silenced

burned up
There's a danger in poison
that does not know of its own toxicity
Poison that offers itself garnished
with soft grey eyes
and intoxicating words
that could subdue even the most strong willed
So I'm drunk off your kiss
and impaired by your touch
Because even your fingers are laced with venom
and when you told me you weren't poison
I believed you
Because I am as weak as they come
and it wasn't until I was lying alone,
struggling for breath,
that I realized
just how toxic you were
Every colour turns to grey
Every price he'll have to pay
For every little mistake
He's ever made
And though none could equal
To the pain of his latest
The loss of his love
All down to him
He drove her away
With every mistake
With every late night flit
And his latest one night stand
But it doesn't matter
Because that was a mistake
And it's guaranteed
He'll make another one tomorrow
That may equal to the loss
Of his latest love affair
As he goes back to his wife
Lost in the ineptitude
Of his mistakes
She takes another beating
For his loss.
Sitting side by side he asks in a whispered voice,
"Whats the first thing you notice on a person"
I replied, "their eyes".
After a moments pause he asks me why
I explain that no matter what color or shade
An eye will tell you how deep there secrets go,
How much they love
Or how sad their heart is
Eyes will tell you how passionate a person is
Or how dark the deepest pits of them are.
When i look at you, i see all the good things, and the not so good things.
Everyone thinks the mouth spills secrets and lies
But i promise you, its all in the eyes.
I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine
To some she is a shining light
A flash of hope amongst the dark
An optimistic helping hand
To pull you from the dark
And cheer your sorrow

To some she is a black hole
Pulling the world down with sadness
Reliving the past that broke her
And stabbing others with the shards

To some she is simple words
plastered on a white canvas painting a picture.
never more
but never less

To most she is unnoticeable
A tiny footnote scribbled in the corner of a forgotten notebook
A wall flower whose thorns push away all but those with the key to her locked heart.

When you ask me what she is
The answer is impossible
Because I don't know

But I can tell you what she's not

She is not a beautiful face, to stop you in a crowd

She is not a chatting girl to talk you into a date

She is not a innocent flower
Welcoming with open arms

She is not a genius to create the next invention

She is not a musician, an author, a designer, a star, a doctor, or a hero

She is not a loving companion for you to hold, and remember your every need

She is not a great friend, always there in a flash.

She is not a friendly person, starting up the conversation

She is not a good cook, making meals that are edible

She is not an unscarred girl, unscathed by the past

She is not a beautiful figure
That draws your eyes

She is not hilariously funny
Ready for stand up comedy

She is not someone to remember though she will remember you

However she is not fazed by judges
Changing ways to suit them

She is not perfect

She is not stopped by her imperfections, only pressed farther to become something more.

And though I can not say who she is or what she will be. Here's what I can say

To me she will always be the girl staring back in the mirror.

When your heart breaks at another's crying ; how many pieces would you give them?
The ones who need you the most ; only want you to be there for them.
If you can mend a wounded soul ; your words reach deeper than the physical.
The warmth of a gentle embrace ; opens your eyes, to the sharing of tears.
When you can show what's inside ; you'll find that we all suffer from a lack of care.
Thanks zoey spotting the missing word!
