What is more torturous than knowing the art
seeing the velvet lust filled crimson
The midnight where she touched your hand blue
And resting without movement
Because you couldn’t pick the right medium

I went out to find
Some value in me,
So I sold what I had
For little a fee.

My eyes for a penny
I sold to some fools,
They're blind and useless,
Mistook for jewels.

My lips for a nickel
To the sweetest sin,
So they'll know the love
That has never been.

My ears for a dime
I sold to a lover.
To hear sweet nothings,
And silence uncover.

My hands for a quarter
I sold to a ghost,
So that she might feel
What I've wanted the most.

Finally my bones for a dollar
I sold to the earth,
But as for my soul-
There was found no worth.
Plant a tree,
Water a flower,
Preserve nature.
Have a purpose!

Feed a bird,
Cuddle a pet,
Be humane to animals.
Have a purpose!

Save a life,
Nurture an orphan,
Stand up with the oppressed.
Have a purpose!

Count your blessings,
Recite your prayers,
Contemplate the universe.
Have a purpose!

Nurture your mind with ideas,
Fill your heart with the wine of love,
Dress your soul with the garment of kindness.
Have a purpose!

I am someone you can count on.
If I say I will, I do.
If I say I can, it’s true.
I labor on when the rest are gone.

You can trust me with your secrets.
I’ve no need to tell the world.
My gossip flag is always furled.
So you will never have regrets.

I’m the one who’ll stand beside you
As you wade through thick and thin.
I’ll be like your next of kin
And I will always see you through.

In this cruel world, trust is hard to find,
And people fake themselves, to fit in and be kind.
Formality is the norm, and they underestimate you,
But don't give up, for you're stronger than they knew.

It's a temporary world, full of fake smiles,
But don't let it break you, you'll go miles.
For in this cruel world, there's still beauty to see,
And you'll find your place, where you're meant to be.
There are so many paths in front of me,
Choices that I must make,
And I have no idea where any path leads,
Or which one I should take.

I only know that each one will take me,
To different places I've not been.
And that I won't be able to turn around,
To start from right here again.

And I'm not sure if it's better to choose,
Quickly.... or to contemplate,
For as soon as I go the wrong direction,
It will already be too late!

The path in the middle is well beaten,
Many must have tread before,
But taking the middle road all the time,
Sounds like nothing but a bore.

The path on the left is well hidden,
And it is not very clear.
It appears way too dangerous for me,
And I am so full of fear.

The road to the right looks exciting,
And it holds a special allure,
That is the way I really want to go,
But I'm still a little unsure!
One day, certain, this world I shall leave.
And left behind will be some who grieve.

And to the ones who shed their tears,
Who graced me with so many years,

I say to you, find peace with my rest,
Please carry on;  live life at its' best.

For I return to where I was received,
Renewed forever, because I believed.

And though we may be parted my friend,
And the world alone you have to attend,

Find hope in knowing that even though we're apart,
We will meet again and I still live in your heart.
