higher, beyond the best view --

Oh, little
Prisoner of
Moments
And the
Materialistic,
Misled
And
Misunderstood,
When will
You find your
Own way?
Be late on rent,
Flip tables,
Argue with
The ones
Who mistreat
You.
Little one,
Things will
Be okay.
Just dont let it consume you, please.

new, suddenly a new path --

(a silly series of Senryus)

It’s time to cram for
final exams, again, so
here we go, mug up.

My mind, coffee dark,
drifts in academic dreams,
—think roiling oceans.

A ‘mandatory’
society meeting? You’re
not the boss of me.

I’ll shun or eschew,
if I want too, sidestepping,
like a tap dancer.

I'm not lazy - I'm
high tech and in energy
saving mode right now.

It’s a pointed and
conscious decision—I’ll do
me and you do you.

I'm sad from the rain,

without knowing: is this real --

genuine sadness?

The fly explores me,

tickles my arms and my hands --

It cannot be caught.
Poem "Er waart een vlieg in huis rond" ("There's a fly gadding about the house", 2022, Emma Crebolder)

Are journeys searches,

and the prey on which you hunt:

a refuge called Home?

Kalliope
A little girl crying, a little girl lost,
Hush now keep quiet,
Our reputation it will cost.
A little girl laughing, no where to be found, do your chores and stay hidden, don't you dare make a sound.
A little girl beaten, a little girl bruised, relying only on herself, she's used to being used.
A grown woman erratic, her mind is far gone, they snicker and laugh, they don't ask her what's wrong.
A grown woman tired, her eyes all wept out, she's firm in her stance now, rebuking self doubt.
A grown woman angry, unseen for too long, she's sure of her place now, there's bass in her song.
A grown woman fighting, not for herself
But for her little girl, who will never have to know how she felt

i know a guy
he lives nearby
on absolutist street
the other day
he was going away
the street had two directions
it went either always or never
from his drive he pondered his turn
he always went the always way
and never went the never
........never to return
