Searching for myself
Discovered a real *******;
So made him anew.
Very nearly a functioning haiku

The sky; choking in smog,
Seeks its former freedom.

The dam denies the river,
Still and lifeless, lacking flow.

The forest; cut and culled,
banished far at man's designing

The fire sits fragile in its grate,
Stays domesticated; docile.

The Earth; anger raising,
At the subjugation of its sons.

We people walk through life,
ignorant to our offences.

Ours minds; seized still,
Synapses froze and never firing.

My soul knowing the outcome,
Asks deliverance from its fate.

Society has no regret

Stretches us out like human tack
Twists the gears to move the rack
To keep us tight and highly strung

Much easier to hold the notes
The ones that get stuffed down our throats
The ones that we think that we sing ourselves

Society has no regret

A child playing with marionettes
Then torches them when play is done
To watch the flames eat up and take

We entertain, to be its friend
But seeking value in an early end
Its wish we die before become a burden

Society has no regret

Tears out gold teeth for circuit boards
Greases gears with chewed up hoards
Then renders down their fats for soaps

Society has no regret

Keep us numb on drugs and hope
Steady pulse of dopamine
Notice nothing cut or gleamed

Society has no regret

The great machine has got to turn
Your body's your country fuel to burn
To expend the shell as it sees fit

Society has no regret

The ash spread out makes fertile fields
Let the future make the past its meal

I'm too drunk man
Way past the laughs and the larkings
Alone now with the thoughts that the dark brings
I'm way too drunk man

I'm skint so im drinking of brand
Still sipping when the dawn starts its breaking
But that time any old **** tastes amazing
I'm way too drunk man

The sun on my face through the blinds
Red morning light matching my eyes
Wishing the clock would re-wind
Cause where my future self lays
He'll lay all day with his mind
Scattered to the winds and the skies

I'm way to drunk man
#drinking #drunk

I remember my friend, and then again I go back in time

Then again, I become that boy,
The one who met his friend on a Friday, in the living room, after his swimming lesson

Then again, that boy,
Who ran with his friend on the streets in spring, in the parks in summer, played the fields in autumn

Then again that young man,
Who dug a hole with his dad on a Saturday, stood that morning with his family, as his friend went into the ground

Then again, that young man
Who with head in his girlfriends lap at night, drunk in the dark, cried for the loss of his friend

Round the circle we all sit
As a group reciting ****
Again just like the night before
Channelling hyena packs
The night alive with stoner's laughs

Double double
Puff and pass
Hold your breath until it laps

Heavy hits from bottle bongs
Sat  beatboxing old school songs
Passing round fermented potions
Childish jokes and puerile motions

Double double
Puff and pass
Hold your breath until it laps

Drifting off in ones and two
Mushrooms picked and set to brew
Mellow greens in china skin
Heady smoke smell covers sins

Double double
Puff and pass
Hold your breath until it laps

Acid tabs as foreheads sag
Hard liquor hits to beat the flag
Coke on mirrors razored fine
Crushed up E laid out in lines
Prolonged highs that last for hours
Bumps from Yale keys full of powders
Endorphins drop so fuel the need
Satisfying primal greeds

Double double, double stuff
These papers tight and start the tuck
Roll it up and stick it down
Set alight and pass it round
And by the burning in my lungs
Something potent this way comes.
Ripping off and devaluing Shakespeare....sorry.
Also getting nostalgic about a misspent youth.

I sometimes look at myself and worry
That inside i'm always going to be that awkward kid
The one who grew up into his face
But cant seem to grow up into his mind
