I'll never tell another soul
I'll never give the trust away
I wish you would just take me whole
Confide in me like an empty page
A thousand words in black ink's stain
As the thoughts wax and wane
I'll never find the words to say
I just want things to stay the same
But we can't stop the seasons change
Or the moons gentle phase
We can't change our parents' ways
Or the pain that radiates
But in this moment we have the reigns
I could never make you stay
There's freedom that can't be taken away
It keeps us hopeful for a new day
It's the freedom that keeps us young and alive
Without the call we'd surely die
With nothing but what's set ahead
We'd both be better off dead
Maybe that's why we do the things we do
Getting drunk and breaking rules
She was made of a million scattered pieces
and particles of dust
she fell too hard
and loved too much
Her soul deeper than the ocean
and her heart was a war
Love was soul food
sheathed with trust
She was a woman everyone loved
only to leave behind and walk upon
She never grew tired of the pain left behind
Instead embraced them as her own
But that never deterred her spirit
For she only picked herself up again
Finding someone
to heal with all the love that remained...
There are some women you'll meet in your life who'll change your perspective about love. They are the ones who'll heal you of the pain others have left behind, they are the ones who will give you a part of their beautiful soul, the ones who will make you their world. And most often than not, you won't realize that they are the ones in dire need of love - because they are the ones who've been walked upon a million times, they are the ones constantly healing people, forever overlooking their needs.
The tree's fingertips screech against the water
Swirling indents cry of the river's scars
The sun tricks a rainbow, trapping color against cold, clear lenses
And the trees forget to wear green when I uncover my eyes

I see a thousand languages, hear countless cities
So many cities that I could never place a foot in them all
Not even if all I ever did was walk

Somewhere before my eyes,
The bubble pops.

Blue and green splash down on my bleeding hands
A small puddle burning holes in the floor
To my reflection stuck in its borders, I repeat the only words I know

Is this all?

She never answers.
