Bruised battered and delayed
The cage was open
But the bird stayed
Abused women there has to be a threshold
The silence must be broken there is help out there
Fortunately I don't know
When it's my time
So I forgive and forget
Even myself without regret
I live for today tomorrow's
Far away
A smile on good mornings
With children I play
I do the dishes
Although I'm a little bit grey
A smile to the neighbour
Of sunbeam displayed
I sometimes say bad stuff
Grumpy dismayed
But do not repeat it I'm so afraid
For in this great moment
We call today
There's only one chance
And this I will say
My time or yours
Will be remembered
As sunshine or rain
Indigenous verve
Cradled an African earth child
Koi San blossomed there
The global narrative is that the
Koi San
Is the first nation of South Africa and should indeed be
Classified as the indigenous people
Of the Western Cape
The South African government
Still does not recognise these truths
I am a coloured by culture but DNA Koi San

There is a quiet hour
       Between the mountains

When the trees are higher in the crown
       Than any expectation

And life, wildlife, lays bare beneath
Resting at the feet of man most kind

Be it moved or unshown
       In this afternoon hour

The quiet distance covers the in-betweens
And is found there, atop the tops
Written atop and yet between two mountains
To construct wisdom requires fulfilling experiencing life,
without fear and obligation to humanity, musings end up,
caring and laying thought out for others to interrupt or to
disregard, only in boredom can desire happening, a life
without action results of constant yearnings, only hopeless
romantics die of a broken heart and those who had gone
out into the world with insecure intent and sinful manner
veiled over with ego live out remaining days with shame.
