If I were dead, I would still dream of us

If I were dust, I might yet believe

The more of our promise

Will come to be

Yes

I wonder where my little pagan princess is?
No doubt, she's out casting spells,
or getting her nails, hair, and lips painted black.
I gave her a broomstick for her birthday and said it was cheaper on gas than her Saab.
She failed to see the humor in it.
What I wouldn't give to find a woman that dug watching sunsets, The Three stooges, and listening to Miles Davis; that looked alive, instead of like Morticia from the Adams Family,  or some demented funeral
director on crack.

She's got a meeting with the
coven tonight.
I suggested that we get some
Chardonnay, put on some Van Morrison, and make love by
the fireplace.
She just cackled and flew off,
in her Saab, not on the broomstick.

Who ever told you that
         Words are useless
            Has never truly
              Experience them
                 Dance around their minds
                    And feel them through
                        Their souls personally

                                 What’s left unsaid
                                     Has left unhealed
Failed relationships
Never saw one that
Wasn’t incredibly painful
To someone
Or someones
Most people hold on too long
In this society that loves disposable
We often refuse to throw away
That which hurts us
Every day

“Love” was how
We found each other
But “fate” is what
Will always keep us together
There will come a time
I may not be able
To catch you all the time
When you fall
Because life’s happens
Sunshine I’m sorry, life’s happens
But even though if happens to be true
You can always count on me
To help you “get up”,
Even if I have to kneel down
So you could climb up on my back
I will, Sunshine I will,
Until my heart stops beating
Because I will always love You

May all the sonnets in the world compiled in beauty
lend themselves to your sweet eyes of gold
may every line of of penmanship speak to you of me
showing you that ardor, still untold

and when the moon comes out to serenade you darling
send me kisses from your balcony
and when the moonlight bathes the feather's of a starling
tinted dark as heaven's ebony,

bring me all your charms and play your castanets my love
rend each doubt and join me over there
where every wingeth bird soars up like a turtle dove
and plays you music oh so fair

may every sonnet ever written call you out by name,
may every poem ever uttered be your sweet proclaim.

Why is pleasure measured in moments,
while work is measured in weeks or years?

Pleasures are like insubstantial fictions, sweet treats gone
in the tasting or perhaps flowers, that once cut, wither.
So don't be enthralled by fickle snippets of passion.

Work and service have the weight of reward,
by labor's honest toil, we fashion, forge and provide.
