I learn the stories

while I'm listening to them --

While I'm telling them.
Novel "Lighthousekeeping" (2004, Jeanette Winterson), chapter Known point in the darkness

Collection "Held/True"
Battlefields.
Eons past
to
modernity.
Clubs
to tanks.
War,
carnage.
Death.
From the
dawn of
recorded
time.
Millions
slaughtered.
Blood soaked
land.
Oozing
life,
meaning.
Meaning,
point?
Narratives,
mind control.
Programed.
Mindless
puppets,
charging the
field.
Dying.
People
don’t
rule the
world.
Narratives
rule the
world.
People,
simply
doing
what
they’re
told!

Kyla
Like an ocean wave
You swept me off my feet
Riding the ocean
Without a care in the world
Deeper and deeper I float
The tides pull back
I am swept over my head
Nothing underneath me
I'm drowning
Out in the open
All alone
Never a preacher or a teacher
just trying my hardest here
to reach you,
but trying doesn't bake a cake
trying's designed to make you ache
and crying is a waste of time.

Is silence then the key?

She says,
what are you on about?
the magic roundabout?
and that says it all.
Being fully healed from lovesickness is wanting to love but curiosity still wins every time.
She is vivacious with her dark blue eyes and slender body.
She is wants me to be more than friends with her.
She flirts with a smile and captures my heart.
This is a different girl that I fell for.
The older the day
  the sweeter the memory

The sweeter the memory
  new reasons to find

New reasons to find
  tomorrow unmentioned

Tomorrow unmentioned
—the present Divine

(1st Book Of Prayers: July, 2018)
I could write for you till my words bleed dry
When at my worst and I don't want to try
Just your voice will keep me going till the day I die
You empty a room with just your smile
Would it be wrong if I stayed with you for a while
No word is good enough to describe you and all you are
When the sky feels empty you're my shining star
I'll tell you this now and I mean it to be true
In a room full of art I'd only stare at you
I breath you in and breath you out
Trust me when I say you're all I think about

The Cranberries hum their tune
in my mom's Outback Subaru

and im scared of growing up
and im scared that I've already grown

why are we driving so fast?
let's linger at the next stop

let's drive slow, with the windows down
feel the cold wind mess up your hair

turn up the music, let the light in
I'll be here forever
People who really know me ask, “Do you still write?”
“Oh yeah,” I say, “I’ve never been more inventive or less relevant.”
