376: Hello Beautiful
Stop crying my sweet
You burnt the dinner
And it has got you down
Come here for a hug
Listen to what I say

Hello Beautiful

Don't you worry now
That dress suits you well
Never mind about others
Of what they might think
Because in my eyes I say

Hello Beautiful

From that very first day
I still feel the same way
Every moment I see you
Every day I am with you
Every time we make love

I say...

Hello beautiful

394: Never Turn Back
You can never turn back
The past has been and gone
Now the future awaits ahead
So take that step forward

If you lose your self control
In a game you never chose
Then you can never win
No one will try to listen

So those stories they tell
It is only side being told
Bite your tongue forever
You know what took place

Another day seems better
Away from what used to be
Just keep holding the good times
But you must never turn back

Join me, come share a drink
Of times gone in a blink
Here we sit, lost in thought
Never have we found what we sought

Pour us another, drown this sorrow
All could be better, come tomorrow
They call me the Gonzo poet
Ready, now and always, to show it
I will be here, forever with my friends
Caring for them, because caring never ends
Killing time before time deserts me

Relishing those close, who set me free
Of all the days that have gone past
Broken bottles are always cast
Be your health always bless you
In all the things that you do
Never fear, the Gonzo poet is here
So come and join me now, in another beer

382: Excuse Me, Sir
Excuse me, Sir

Did you have to order
The most expensive food
That is on the menu

When outside the window
A hungry child looks in
Only dreaming of this

You waste half the plate
So it is thrown away
But never a scrap for us

Excuse me, Sir

You buy for your own sake
Not really needing it
For it is left to be forgotten

Never thinking what you could do
Sparing for the needy with nothing
One percent of your money is too much

You do not believe in charity
Millions wasted for your own good
The rich always rob from the poor

Let Your Guitar Sing
Come play a tune for me

Play of love lost memory

Play of almost anything

Let me hear your guitar sing

Let music fill the air

Play for all of us there

Listen to your sweet tune

Playing by the stars and moon

Beauty of the six strings

And the melody it brings

Hear beautiful music tonight

Play until the day light

Please play a tune for me

Play and set me free

You can play anything

Let me hear your guitar sing

The sun shines and the children play

The heat radiates from the passing day

Under a old Rowan tree I find shade

But this love I have can never fade

For in Summer, I am in Winter still

She has gone, I see the wide blue sky

Not even a cloud is there floating by

She is away from me, in a land so far

And on a day like this I wonder how you are

For in Summer, I am in Winter still

In the cool river I witness dogs that swim

I see butterflies floating only on a whim

And even I know, to enjoy this day I should

I can not stop feeling this hurt, even if I could

For in Summer, I am in Winter still

So enjoy your day, I am alone on a sandy beach

She is just across the water, out of my reach

I look up now and I see a sea gull cry

To be in her arms right now, I would gladly try

But in Summer, I am in Winter still

Creeping down stairs, not making a sound
A little boy looks under the tree, glee in his eyes
Seeking for so many presents to be found
Wondering what is in them, what is the surprise?

Suddenly he hears a noise, a ringing of a bell
The little boy creeps behind the sofa to hide
Is it his papa?, there is no way to tell
He might be angry and smack his backside

He peeks out and sees a glimpse of red
The little boy is scared, who can it be?
Maybe it is a bugular come inside instead
Steal everything there, oh what misery!

"Little boy, be you not afraid my friend"
"I know you are hiding behind there"
It was a voice, someone good in the end
Someone special who always loved to share

He came from behind the sofa, feeling shy
Santa was standing there, rosy cheeks and a smile
The little didn't know what to do, should he cry?
Would Santa take away his presents in a pile?

"Little boy, this time of year is only for you"
"Children of the world are special to us all"
"Take your gifts away?, that I would never do"
"Please go to bed, and wait for morning to call"

The little boy did this, and slept in dream land
He awoke that morning with an excited sigh
Went door stairs, holding his mamas' hand
And noticed on the table, a half eaten mince pie

291: Women
Women are all such beautiful creatures
Transfixing us with their sensual features
Beautifully crafted for the eyes of man
We are hynotised by the wiles of a woman

We love the way that you wiggle
Especially that ****, adorable jiggle
And that way you know how to tease
Every man becomes weak at the knees

A lady bewitches us at her own leisure
We become slaves to her very pleasure
For what would we ever do without her
Our species could not go any further

Seeing her in her splender, we rejoice
We respond to the sound of her voice
And with that kiss she will give
It gives us that reason to live

So for women everywhere, we celebrate
For to us very men, you are our fate
We crave to feel your own loving touch
That is why we love you so very much

418: To Love
When you fall in love
The World is an open book
A sky filled with white doves
Beauty in everywhere you look

When you see her crying
There is pain deep inside
As if your heart is dying
It strips away at your pride

When she kisses you
On the clouds you walk
Feelings touch so true
Finding voices to talk

This is a feeing of hope
Deep down in your being
For each day you can cope
The gift of the feeling .....

.....To love

479: A Kiss
A kiss to your nose
For you are as beautiful
As a rose

A kiss to your eyes
For you are as wonderful
As the sunrise

A kiss to your lips
For you are as mysterious
As the eclipse

But most of all, a kiss to you
For always being you

430: Please Don't Cry
Please don't cry
You're not alone
In this world
Feeling so alone

Come with me
Outside the window
The sun shines
Flowers still grow
Sky is blue
Day is smiling
Just for you

Never give up
There is hope
We'll find it
True friends together
Take a look
And you'll see
Beauty is outside

Then look inside
Deep into yourself
The beauty there
They call life
Starts with you

78: Forever More
Can you hear the voice calling this night?
Is this all a trick within my mind?
Because somewhere in the darkened shadows
I can hear something calling out my name
And I hide under the covers, let it go away

But curiosity takes me to the window, to look out
To look out on a dark night of hidden fear
I open my window and on the chilled wind I hear it
Like a voice from a secret grave still calling my name
"Leave me be, who are you to haunt me in the dark"?

But I fear my cry goes unheard as the voice calls again
I dress myself, dorn my boots, to solve this mystery
For I alone only seem to hear the voice calling to me
Calling to the shivers that are running down my spine
I go down the stairs and I hesitate before opening the door

I step out and an icy mist seems to surround the air
Chilled to my bones, I follow the voice that comes again
It takes me to the edge of an abandoned church, long forgotten
And somewhere between the overgrown graves it is there
Beckoning me to enter this place that belongs to the dead

I wonder hopelessly to myself, why did not anyone see me?
Surely someone would have stopped me this cold night
Especially from entering this deserted place of ghosts
But once again the voice comes calling like a spectre
And I find myself being drawn towards one forgotten grave

And the horror strikes at me at long last
As I read the name and see only my own, I am dead
It was no voice calling out, it was my own voice in my head
For I did not believe I had gone from the land of the living
And once again I know I must sleep, sleep forever more

335: Love Deserter
She used to hear her heart call
But she allowed herself to fall
She will never return back to then
Never allow herself to love her men

She is a love deserter, love deserter
She won't allow anyone to hurt her

She only sees her emotions fade
Not getting close is the price she paid
Never listens to those romantic words said
Takes only her desire then leaves the bed

She is a love deserter, love deserter
She won't allow anyone to hurt her

She is the one in control of her lust
Leaving you crawling in the dust
She has lost her passion to love
Crushes your heart with an iron glove

She is a love deserter, love deserter
She won't allow anyone to hurt her

To feel for someone, it's been too long
All that she had, it's now all gone
Secretly there will be only one man she needs
But he rejected her, it's why her heart bleeds

She is a love deserter, love deserter
She won't allow anyone to hurt her

She used to hear her heart call
But she allowed herself to fall
She is a love deserter, love deserter
She won't allow anyone to hurt her

359: New Beginnings
Out goes another decade
Dying in the last embers
As the final seconds fade
And the past slowly remembers

A new one is born to begin
Maybe better than that before
Wondering what it will bring
What secrets has it instore

A new year, for a new time
Ten years gone by too fast
Twelve bells of a clock chime
Celebrations that can never last

Let us have no wars or no pain
No problems creeping this way
No dark clouds bringing forth rain
Let there be a new beginning today

449: Until We Meet Again
Time, my love, for I have to go
To vanish like a shadow tonight
Returning, I do not know when
For a dark poet soul fades away

If you should dream of me
I will come, walk through your dreams
Embracing you with sweet memories
But for now, this is only a brief goodbye

Fond submission remains in your eyes
Alas, my dear, I wish I could stay
But do not allow your heart to break
I belong to the night of a thousand words

I carry with me the touch of your body
The knowledge of every part of your flesh
An ageless beauty forever in my mind
Remember me, until we meet again

Stranger
I am a stranger
Of a forgotten touch
Where love once came
Now a forbidden embrace

Just a stranger
Who desired too much
Needing a heart to claim
But now, lost without a trace

Stranger in another land
With no other place to go
No arms there to hold me
Burning in a sun, all alone

A stranger who doesn't understand
Of all the things I need to know
A prisoner who is never set free
Feeling this heat, on my own

Child
A child sees a better world
A child loves stories told
A child plays unseen adventures
A child never sees the danger unfold

Long ago we were all children
We played with an invisible friend
The joy we could always find
But one day, childhood came to an end

A parent is there to protect the child
A parent sees the real world outside
A parent will never go away
A parent is still a child deep inside

I miss the arms of my Mother
The authority of my Father's voice
The love of my Grandmother and Grampy
Just to have another day with them to rejoice

That child long ago, used to be me
That child long ago, they lifted up above
That child long ago, I want to be again
That child long ago, always had their love

Dark City Tales
She believed he would make her a star.

Sixteen and believed his false lies.

He was fifty and only looking for fun.

Cast her aside when he had what he wanted.

Now she is too ashamed to go back home.

Plays tricks just to make money to live.

A victim of one of the dark city tales.

He wanted to part of the gang and belong.

Tried too many drugs and ******* up his head.

They gave him a knife and laughed behind his back.

Like an idiot he thought it was big to rob.

Eighteen years old and destroyed his young life.

A cop with a gun was forced to end it for him.

He became another victim in dark city tales.

She waits for him to come home drunk.

He lost his job and takes it out on her.

Very quick to use his fist to lash out.

Another black eye she tries to hide.

Says she walked into the door once again.

Neighbours shut their eyes not to be involved.

Both are more victims in dark city tales.

Young fourteen year old girl throws her baby away.

A drunkard night of unplanned emotions was the cost.

She never knew what her life would have in store.

Hid the baby as she felt it growing inside her.

An unwanted pregnacy she had to face all alone.

A new born baby left to die in some unknown dumpster.

Another twisted story of the dark city tales no one knows.

385: I Am A Broken Man
I am a broken Man
Made of glass, shattered
Pieces of myself found
Like smashed rain drops
Adorning this dusty floor

Do you believe a man can cry?
Weeping of the love he lost
That his soul, now forever ******
Could not take that needed step
To take him in the right direction

That man is a dark, fallen fool
I am he, who fell hard from grace
Never able to find that moment
That passing second, all I needed
But my pitied pride kept me back

So the heart aches, no more say I
Leave me suffering with my demons
Let the broken shards lie where they are
That which once contained true love
That I carelessly dropped from my hands

Dear Nobody
Dear Nobody

Dear Nobody,
I was wondering
What you are doing today

I'm doing nothing special
If you want to come my way

You see, I look outside
This dusty old window
I never notice you there
Somebody I don't know

I see a lot of you
Those nobody people
Where nobody is special
But everybody is equal

Sorry, I have to go now
You really are somebody
Who am I, you ask
Me, I'm just nobody

War Is a Three Letter Word
Soldiers try their best to do their duty
Avoiding stones from the protesters
Who should throw them at the General
Because a soldier does his job with honour
War is a three letter word

Generals drink white wine somewhere in comfort
While a true soldier faces unknown death
Having to fight in some far away strange land
Because his orders tell him he has to be there
War is a three letter word

When you sleep tonight and children are safe
Teenagers and young men and women dreaming
Knowing tomorrow they will face another day
Then think of the mother of a soldier who prays
War is a three letter word

Watch the TV, and go about your work
Bless a new day when you see the sun rise
That poor mother begs her son or daughter is safe
That her soldier will not be returning home in a box
War is a three letter word

Remember that the soldier is fighting to protect us
They are there, putting their life on the line
We know War is Hell, but we are not the one's fighting
So I say a silent pray, don't let a young soldier die
War is a three letter word

476: A Friend
A friend

Is there when times are bad
Comforting you in your need
Never turns you away

They help you smile
Share in the joke
But not at your expense

They never hurt you
Talk behind your back
Or leave you on the floor

They not use you
Take from you
Never to give back

They show you love
With a growing bond
Walking beside you

Never in front
To take the lead
To take over

Never behind
To laugh at you
To kick you down

But beside you
To help you up
If you should fall

So look to the right
Then look to the left
You will see the truth

Countless friends
On each side
Smiling with you

So love your friends
Wherever you may go
They will stay with you

Behind his painted on smile
Carrying a single red balloon
Trying to walk in big shoes

Always just a laughing stock

Ode To An Addict
He has nothing left to own

Empty rooms are his home

In his own filth he will lie

Just to be a little bit high

He waits to feel the effect

With what he will inject

Right into his own vein

He will never feel the pain

Never hears the playing song

All his friends are now long gone

He is in darkness, there is no electricity

He is alone, feeling his own self pity

Tried to stop so many times

Made money with too many crimes

Even drugs he would steal

For the way they make him feel

This time the drugs are bad

Does not care for he has gone mad

He can feel the buzz in his head

By the morning he will be dead

Through the dust stained window
With his evil pumpkin head
Lit with an eerie candle glow
The axe from the shed,
Glints within the moonlight

I fear the tapping at the door
Then suddenly smashed to pieces
He is here now,

Raising that axe above my head
I close my eyes and tremble
Because I have no time to scream

Said that being strange was to blame

Hurt him and caused him pain
Pushed him over in the rain
They even spat in his face
Told him he was a disgrace

Johnny please don't cry
I know you just want to die
Johnny I don't know why
It's easy when you try

I wish the bullies would just go away
Leave Johnny alone for only one day

Too many bullied face suicide these years

Found him hanging from off the floor
Poor Johnny is one of the dead

The Wood Through The trees
He always wanted to be somebody
He always did his best in school
But the boy became a man
And he started playing the fool

He started hanging with the wrong crowd
And they always would lead him astray
Too many girls, he would break their hearts
But he would never give his heart away

Until that day when he saw her standing there
And he fell head over heels for the beauty queen
They kept saying she was way out of his league
They kept saying he would never be her scene

Now he is going all out to mend his ways
He is going to change who he used to be
He is saying goodbye to what used to be his past
He is going to open up her eyes to see

This former bad boy wants to be with his blind girl
She can not see his face, but she can feel his heart
He never thought he would find the wood through the trees
He always makes her smile, to him it is a start

The years have flown by, they still remember their first kiss
He still wishes she could have seen their wedding day
And he still loves her as much as the first time he saw her
Their children have grown up, the grandchildren play

The reason your dog barks late in the night
Or the washing machine boils your clothes tight

500: Something Is There
Shadows paint slowly across these walls
Like cold fingers that reach out to touch
Creeping like some spectre come calling
As the light seems, slowly to fade away
Seemly to abandon itself, to the dark

The mind starts to play strange tricks
Was that a sound from somewhere behind?
Could that have been the faintest of whispers?
The shadows are gone, darkness comes calling
The heat of a dead day gives in to the cold night

Somewhere outside, an owl hoots, shivers begin
The stairs creak, as in protest of hours gone
The rain starts,  and taps rapidly at the window
Then the wind screams with a mournful howl
The blankets never seem to keep out that icy embrace

Sleep fails to visit, and night still has that fear
Too afraid to attempt to switch on the light
Too scared to stop that groaning door that sways
Imagination is gripped with nightmarish visions
Surely that was not laughter under the bed

But weary eyes take their toll, hours have passed
Nothing has happened, and all seems to be safe
Until the thunder comes crashing down, hard
And the lightening flashes like hellish fire
Under the covers, to block out the terror

Peaking out, with the trembling of hands
Something is there, standing in the corner
Within the darkest part of the room
Watching, as if a predator studying prey
This is no fogged impression of a dark dream

But just as quickly as the fiendish entity appeared
Now it is gone, no remainder it ever had been
That feeling is here, knowing it had been real
Sleep finally takes you into a sleepless slumber

267: Bad Nursery Rhymes 2
A certain goose melted down all the bling,
The silly thing can't walk with all that gold.

Everyone really wonders "Who killed **** Robin"?
Humpty Dumpty fell on him, if the truth be told.

A certain persons' name is really spelt SINDERELLA,
The poor Prince was shocked to find them a fella.

A man was arrested running around the town one night,
Seemly he forgot his night gown, they locked him out of sight.

In A Child's Eyes
Give him a toy gun
He pretends to be daddy
Who far away is fighting
In some far and distant war
But then in a child's eyes
See the hidden tears
When you have to tell him
Daddy won't be coming home

Momma always keeps her safe
Showing her warmth and love
But she knows Poppa will be back
Smelling of whiskey and angry
And in that child's eyes
She will watch him rage
Punch Momma in the stomach
Because his dinner is wrong

All around this world
We never see the truth
Because the older we become
The blinder we seem to be
And in the children's eyes
Their innocence is seen
But they see better than us
A future that is not meant to be

229: Promises Broken
Promises broken

Words spoken

So untrue

From you

Untold words

Just absurd

Thoughts stained

Minds strained

Your eyes

Telling lies

Cheating heart

Torn apart

Striking back

Sudden attack

All along

You're gone
A two word poem from 2008

Lullaby
Night time lullabies

Sweet singing voice

No more baby cries

Sleepy feeling rejoice

Far away tales

In your sleepy head

Dream of distant sails

On distant boats instead

Hush a bye my little one

Close your sweet eyes

Your dream land has begun

There are no more baby cries

Little one you are sleeping now

So cosy and warm in your bed

Let your wonderland dreams allow

Take you away to dream land instead

389: Broken Poetess
I once spoke to a broken poetess
Transfixed with her words
She told of hearts long forgotten
Of the loss felt in her soul
Her poetry led me to other places
Her imagination became an open book

I never told her of what I saw
A woman full of compassion and beauty
Her aura was of a warm, sensual glow
In her very eyes I saw her sparkle
Her words entranced me like a spell
Her voice was the sound of an Angel

But alas, I could never fix her
She was fated to be a broken poetess
So fragile, but with words so strong
Her heart forever beats in her poetry
Reaching to touch those chosen few
My broken poetess touched me as one

412: Today A World Weeps
Today A World Weeps

Today a world weeps
At a loss of life
I have to ask why
Why **** the children
Why **** the teachers
So near to Christmas
Please cry with me
We lost the future
Maybe a cure for cancer
Maybe a leader of peace
Or an inventor of Time
All now taken away
By a madmans gun
Children are a new generation
To create a new, a better world
Young lives yet to learn, to begin
This Christmas as we celebrate
Families will mourn their loss
Life should be cherished
So let us send prayers
Because all around this world
All religions and all people
Cry with you on this day

259: Hour Glass
The hour glass is counting down,
Counting down one speck at a time

She awaits for him, her faraway lover
Watching the lonely ocean
Waves lashing at the shore
Wishing it brought her this love

He is writing these words you read
He is feeling so far from her kiss
Time is moving so very slowly
Each second is agony without her

They are so close, but so far away
Both never knew love could be this way
Now closing their eyes, to feel each others touch
Almost touching now, but still worlds apart

The hour glass is counting down,
Counting down one speck at a time

Creation Of Damnation
I have created life from death

Proved I can cheat the reaper

I have created the eternal man

Brought him back from oblivion

And still they call him a monster

Let them mock me, I will not be stopped

Let them try and storm this castle

No one will control me, I am the Baron

And they will bow down to my will

I will rule with an army raised from the dead

I gave him life, why does he defy me?

He is my creation, his life is mine

How dare he try to turn against my will

How dare he try to be free

He is mine, and he will always be mine

We fought and he believes me to be dead

I now lie here broken on the ice

But no matter where he may hide

I will hunt him down and destroy him

The world has not seen the last of me, I will return

In these times we live
We see horror take hold
And we try to survive
Knowing all that we do
Seems to be never enough

Wars come and are fought
Where the brave will die
Scared in a battle far away
Terror striking in a distant land
Praying they will make it home

Only the dead are without fear
For the dead can no longer feel
Never aware of the thousand flowers
That will adorn a thousand graves
Only the dead are without fear

I remember when we were young
Playing childrens' games together
Those times are now so special
I thought they could last forever

As we grew older and went our ways
Sister and brother living apart
She became a soldier, making me proud
Always here, never far from my heart

But now I can never tell you how I feel
I remember all the good times we went through
I am torn up inside, knowing I won't see you again
My brother Sean, this pain because it hurts to miss you
This is Hollys' poem linked to Byron Lorde

511: Just A Poet
Do you ponder this life
The meaning of it all
Why we exist to suffer
I do, I always have to

The pain of going on
Dragging through day by day
Wondering does it improve
Will hope come to rescue me

But alas, here I will write
My healing, my feeling
Through the darkest, to the light
Just a poet, nothing more

461: Children Burn
They said "let's have a war"
Blame it on the other side
People will blame them more
Their real purpose they'll hide

While they keep watching rockets
Blasting at the opposite soil
They will secretly line their pockets
By stealing all of the oil

But they just never will learn
Because there are too many that cry
Watching as the children burn
When it is only innocents that die
