I asked her why she cut herself,
and she said,
"Because death has an edge
and life is pointless."
She asked that I not
write a poem
romanticizing suicide,
just a poem about
how hard it can be
to celebrate life.

I know not
How far
My words
Shall travel
Where they
Will meet
With a similar
Frequency
And my feelings
Shall be
Deciphered
Riding those
Waves of
Similarity
Send a
Message
Back to
Me
Connecting dots
With words
Across
The cosmic
Path
One day
We shall
Meet
Through our
Words

Traversing edges,
gliding o’er sledges
undulating ridges,
crossing broken bridges:
One could sense-
the Zephyr’s nudge;
glacier’s gelid grudge-
Frigid frail feet, fail to budge,
the mirage of hope, forever will trudge
traces of existence, begin to smudge.
A mini poem on 'Avalanches' – your arch nemesis in the Arctic.
