We met through proximity,
but didn't use that to convene.
We learned so much about each other through a screen,
But we've let each other truly be seen.

With our many shared interests,
and our vastly different pasts,
help us clearly see our paths.

How enchanting this has all been,
to now call you a friend.

I’ve worn the halo
I’ve donned the horns
each was a badge
of honor worn

stamp of authority
granted for acts
freewill stating
resulting headpiece

I’m here to control
those to be cowed
with badge of savior
or sign of the ******

headgear is placed
by deity
I’ll choose my savior
to make my path clear

one of rebellion
the other contrite
fight for their turn
to control my life

always an angel
differed by sight
shaking the fist
or walking the line.

The poem “Worn The Halo” was inspired by a Tumblr discussion that spoke to the differences between demons’ horns and angels’ halos.

My confusion for love has been my recent obsession.
Yet, I hold on to this "love" as life's accomplished possession.
The love I seek is created from within,
The type of love
another must try to win.
Thoughts that cross my mind.

My body is the image you see of me.

However, there is depths of me
so deep -
only few have seen.

Compared to the bottom of the ocean floor.
A level you can't explore;
some day I'll open up my heart once more.

This is how I feel,
because what I see in the mirror isn't real.
I've let my ego dissolve;
so my heart can evolve.

Look at me,
&
understand what I perceive.

Because my skin is an illusion,
It will fade in time -
And I'll be old and grime.

For the body I have isn't what I want you to see;
It's the soul that I want to let speak and be seen.

A mind of its own -
An energy of life.

Waiting for my match, -
To ignite my light.
