Your Name
My heart beat rises
My eyes light up
I want to see it
I want to hear it
I want you to say mine

Pain
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
Why when you are in pain
You can feel the hurt in your heart
It drops to your stomach
For hours on end
Ruthlessly never stopping
A never ending pain
A reminder of it

You'll never win
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
You tear others down with your nasty words of hate
You think taking others bricks will build you up
But you are mistaken
For what you have stolen are not bricks
But a piece of a puzzle
The puzzle will never fit into yours
But you still try by stacking them on top
Till you are shaken and weak
You may have the tallest tower
But yours is the easiest to break

Lost
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
How do I know which way I'm supposed to go
When I'm falling so fast
Everything I pass is a blur
It's as if I'm not even there
Looking from the outside in
I didn't know that's what they meant by window to the soul

Distractions
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
I like to watch movies
It distracts me from my life
my emotions can have someone else's story to rip the pages out of

Part of me
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
I think a part of me is always waiting for someone better
Who knew you would be the someone better
Who knew you would break my heart
I wrote these three lines and three different points in my life

What I would do
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
I would do it all again
If it meant I could feel his touch one more time
His loving look when I wasn't paying attention
The neck kisses
I would feel the break in my heart grow bigger once again
Just to feel loved by you one more time

Thunderstorms
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
I wanted you to be there during the next thunderstorm
It may sound silly but they scare me
I was thinking of a time where we would be together
You would hold me and make me feel safe
From the sound of the world tearing to pieces
The thunderstorms now just make me feel afraid
Now alone as well
Maybe one day I'll be able to comfort myself and not let people take something fragile
Then break it into pieces just like the sky on those stormy nights

the birds chirp
Caelin O'Malley Nov 2020
In these waking hours
I've learned that the birds will begin to chirp at five
with that life seems calm
like the oceans waves flowing in and out of the shore
amidst the chaos which surrounds the lives of thousands
the peace will always be there to guide you
consistently bringing you to the shores of hope
there you can lose yourself in time
surrounded by thoughts aplenty
no longer feeling the weight of the world
feeling as though you can also fly and chirp
amongst the birds
