The President of the United States is what I said I'd be when I was a kid, until I talked to my grandma and she said I was black and that's not something that we did.

Cause at that time there was no distinction between race, just people male and female and I didn't judge by the color of there face.

But things change and sometimes, I wish they didn't, because after that talk I began to notice the difference, and the change came not just in color.

It was in the environment, the culture, and the way we talk to each other.

It was at that moment that I felt a tunnel get smaller, I felt limited by words and I couldn't grow any taller.

Being black I felt that all I could be was a rapper or ball player. That my life was predetermined and was already tailored.

But I'm pushing forward in the military determined to be pilot because one thing is true, the only person to stop you from succeeding is You.
Tis but a moment that we live, but an eternity that we feel.

Each tomorrow’s tomorrow will be a yesterday and

I hope for you that all the clouds of tomorrows and yesterdays turn to one thing.

And that is Love.

That love that you love as more than love.

The love that all boils down as the gift we’ve been given by no one knows what.

Some say God.
Some say Serendipity.
Some say Something Else.

Whatever you believe,

After all your tomorrows pass and you have only yesterdays to hold

It is the love you breed, here and now, that carries you into eternity.

Grab your share now, for one day, it may not be sitting there waiting for you to feel.

Love fully now.
And be loved fully forever.

For even if it is just us, the stars must be tired of destruction.

Cast love across the sky that even the sun feels dim against.

Create a love story that the moon bows to and the stars pay homage to.

Even if you believe that this is it.

Why would you not take what you can get?

If this is true, then it will be the all and only love you get.

And as for you believers, breed the love you will feel into your forever.

Create an echo of your eternal cry of “I LOVE YOU”

“You” being all.
“You” being the ones closest to your heart.

Let your heartbeats matter.
Let them create a soundtrack that will carry on, even after you’ve gone.

Believe in More or Not.

It doesn’t matter.

The only thing that you need to believe in

Is Love.

Cliché it may be.

But it is Love.

A flawless red curve of
Seductive lips
Your bold tongue
On the cusp of mine
I savor your words
Reckless declarations
Breathed down my throat
Slashing my soul
A wound that won’t heal
Exposed to the memory of
*******
Memories that make it my ruin
The way you wrenched my heart
Racked my mind
Molested my soul
The desolation you left me with
When you were done

I look for Pink
To comfort and inspire
My emotional essence
You will see if you
Look into my eyes.

A necessary evil for our segregation,
It's the deadly examination monster.

It's rough-tough so it never spares us,
Alongside the weaknesses it bares us.

Prepare for them if you want it easy,
Your scores often determine the life.

Never you give-up all fearing failure,
For you can write your future bright.

Holding shining silver string of love,
You 'come more courageous in life...

I can't stop thinking
About you.
My mind is cluttered

Your dark as day tresses
Your sweet-supple-spicy lips
The way your eyes turn from brown to blue in seconds
Whenever I have a single moment of self doubt

I can hear you, feel you
The raspy highs and lows
Your smooth callous caress
How you're both small and giant all at once
Squeezing me in your tender arms

And you know everything
How a ***** kitchen angers and frustrates me
But my room is messy as ****
And the litter hasn't been changed in a week
You won't know how you understand a girl
Who never understood herself

Yet, I can't see you
Like that dark winter night freshman year
You're an image I can't fully grasp
I swear I'm looking everywhere
The picture was always fuzzy

I don't know if I'll meet you
My faraway fading future memory
Until we meet again
My sweet
My dear
My love

The angel moves stealth-like
Appearing as summoned
Here and there to help
Look out, he could be watching
Making sure the nightmare monsters are held at bay

I have an angel watching me
Day and night
His work does not cease
Amazed at the honor
Of having you around me
Just wishing to touch and feel your feathery body

I am learning to listen
to what's not said
to read between the lines
to see the invisible sights
to feel the silent heartbeat

I am learning to listen
to the moments of friendship silence
to hear you dive deep in our dialogue
and come up floundering breathless
I have to resist being your saviour
Just watch you go up and down
up and down but you do not drown

I am learning to listen
to your unspoken presence divine
in the quiet of my lonely night
when my mind is taken over
with a million unanswered questions
regrets, shame, hopes and dreams
painted on white walls of ****** frustration

I am learning to listen
in the times you do not speak
in the times you embrace me
with all of my deep uncertainty
my fear - my doubts - my pain

In the moments I think you absent
and nowhere to be seen
you sit across from me - silent
listening and not to be heard

I often neglect the greatest gift you
give to me - as my lover-friend-divine
to enjoy you as the one
who does not want to be heard
but the one who just wants to listen

Bent over, pen in hand
carefully squeezing between
thumb and forefinger

Looking up to scrolled
white on black cards,
a's and b's

Performance at chalkboard
do so carefully
each stoke and space

Turn the handle slowly, steady
hold the yellow number two
firmly in the sharpener

Practice capitals
slow movement with slight pressure
leave space between words

Circle, circle, fill the page
loops, curls
wave upon wave across the lines

Write your name
no printing allowed
this will be your identity
