White Shadow Dec 2023
In the hush of twilight, a father's absence weaves,
Threads of longing, a heart forever grieves.
Lost at eleven, your warmth fades away,
Yet in my soul's landscape, your presence will stay.

I glimpse your shadow in the whispers of the wind,
A love profound, where memories rescind.
Though your laughter eludes my growing ears,
In my heart's embrace, your joy appears.

An idol unmet, a mythic embrace,
Yearning for stories, your wisdom to trace.
I strive to embody the lessons you'd share,
In life's intricate dance, I sense you there.

Days of triumph and nights of despair,
I ache for your guidance, for your tender care.
A father's embrace, an untouchable dream,
Yet, in fleeting moments, your love does gleam.

I miss you, dear father, in every heartbeat,
In the quiet moments when nostalgia's seat,
Becomes a throne for our moments untold,
A tale of love, more precious than gold.
Dedicated to my father

Blinking never was a
scary thing for me,
But missing you made it be.
You're delicate, I fear.
Us too.
And I'm afraid I might be.

I don't miss you.
I miss my muse.
I don't miss the pain.
I miss the inspiration.
I don't miss the doubts and fears.
I miss the longing tears.
I don't miss your voice.
I miss the silence between your words.
I've come to realize that I don't need you...
I just need another muse.

You said we don't work,
and thought that I never cared
But I'd showed you my love everyday,
a love I had daily declared
It was hidden in the "did you get home safe"
I constantly asked of you
Or the way I stared at your eyes
counting them one by one, a pair of two
The way I would proudly state
"You are a mystery to me, I can't read you"
and I would laugh at that thought
as you left me feeling blue
But nothing more apparent,
than the way I said "I miss you"
and how I would wait for you to call,
to hear the words, "I missed you too"
sometimes i just wonder if you do

Always keep in mind
Your soul
will be written on paper,
Immortalized
for future generations,
Be it good or bad
Or bad or good,
Your energy will
be transformed
Into words.

See,
I couldn’t tell her
how it felt at the end,
Neither could I apologize
For the things that I did.
But oh, how she shined the same,
Be it if she wore lingerie,
Or her favorite dress.

I’ll find myself
thinking of her a lot,
Her smile that brightened
So much that it would
Dim the lamps,
The bulbs,
Even the sun
If it had a chance
To cross her path.

I couldn’t keep my eyes off
Of her,
Only when she directed
My gaze,
Her eyes twinkling
Like the stars in the sky,
Now so far too.

Every now and then,
I’ll reach out,
Feel the warmth
Upon my arms,
But then I’ll stop
And take a step back,
Because apologies
aren’t enough.

Thoughts of you begin to fade, but still,
In missing you, my heart feels the chill.
Slowly, time will heal, and I'll find my way,
Learning to live without you, day by day.

like night misses day
It’s the feeling you get
when your eyes can't wait
to see the blessed sun
so they refuse to shut
lest they miss the wake of dawn...

But I know I should rather sleep
to pull myself faster to the break of day
than to stay up conversing with Cupid
about how she's been and what's gone her way...

I suppose my demons
have their ways of inciting the urge
by pestering my mind
with phantasms of her...

Why does the night have to drag itself so sluggishly?
I still miss her like night misses day.
If only the moon would give me the courtesy
of winding the sun every evening
so that it might never leave me be;
might she shine on my face forevermore?
Some nights the tears just get too heavy to hold back
