Picture a room with white walls, small-windowed.
Through the window, no moon shines like it should.
This view knows streetlights better than starlight,
in the tender dark of this April night,
but someone's still writing about their glow.
And I know her eyes are heavy with sleep.
Still she watches the silver twilight seep
toward the tall lamps-posts, like spilled earl gray.
She wishes like a dream that it would stay,
that she could stave twilight from its lilac fade.
National Poetry Month Day 14.
Once you’ve gone
what more is there
to say about leaving

or, for that matter,
the impermanence
of measured words.

All I can do is stand
alone in the backyard
and listen to the wind.

A late frost killed
the magnolia buds

and the forsythia
never materialized.

And so I wait for the worms
to begin their earthy work.

I wait for the pink moon
to rise above the rooftops.

I wait for the smell of mock orange
and the blue of a broken robin’s egg.

But most of all
I wait for your
words to bloom,

to tell me, finally,
that spring is here—

that the gardens we tend to
have something more to say.

I guess
the greatest secret for every human
is the not knowing
of what’s going on
in the head of the ones
surrounding you.
now just realize
that they are aching to know
the same of you.
this paradox
sounds easy to get solved,
but so hard to become reality.

i have seen the stars
through your eyes
you showed them to me, and it was something new.

i don't know what was more beautiful;

the night sky

or seeing it from your point of view
if only we could see inside each other's minds...

I want to learn your secrets;
hear the things you've never told;
reach inside and **** your mind,
burn the things that make you cold.

I wish to know your dreams,
those that keep you awake;
peak inside and try to find
a way to give your worrisome mind a break.

I need to know your sins,
the ones you're ashamed to speak;
hold your hand, comfort them away,
reassure you that they don't make you weak.

I hope to know what haunts you
in the silence of your days,
do you think of me, do you think of her?
What words do you wish you could unsay?

I yearn to know your desires,
fetishes that make you tick;
grasp your heart, feel your skin,
discover the way our bodies click.

I crave to love your soul
in all the ways a person could;
hold your fears, kiss your tears,
adore you the way a lover should.

The news came out, and the world is ending
Tonight is our last night and it's just beginning
Our hands entwined and spinning
The beautiful music just keeps on playing

Just tell me where we need to start
Let me put my hands on your heart
And even if tomorrow doesn't come, we won't be far apart
As for us, only minutes to depart

So, stay right where we are
We've only ever come this far.
