My life experience.
His timeless scripture.
Which is the lens?
And which is the picture?
My answers starting to change.

Lord Byron
To sit on rocks, to muse o’er flood and fell,
To slowly trace the forest’s shady scene,
Where things that own not man’s dominion dwell,
And mortal foot hath ne’er or rarely been;
To climb the trackless mountain all unseen,
With the wild flock that never needs a fold;
Alone o’er steeps and foaming falls to lean;
This is not solitude, ’tis but to hold
Converse with Nature’s charms, and view her stores unrolled.

But midst the crowd, the hurry, the shock of men,
To hear, to see, to feel and to possess,
And roam alone, the world’s tired denizen,
With none who bless us, none whom we can bless;
Minions of splendour shrinking from distress!
None that, with kindred consciousness endued,
If we were not, would seem to smile the less
Of all the flattered, followed, sought and sued;
This is to be alone; this, this is solitude!

I live for dandelions
That bloom between the cracks
Blinding strikes of happiness
Thriving in desecration

Have you ever seen a field of them?
Reclaiming where they may
It nary ceases to amaze
They always seem to say:

“Life continues”
If a flower can retake concrete, then I can make it through too.

i found you in your boots,
making wrecks of all the flower beds,
daggers, darts, and seeing red,
and hell to all the rest.

you found me in my truth,
making reckless proclamations,
spitting spite inside a basement,
and studying for tests.

**

like a former prison colony
i watched you become
a strange place.

digesting tragedies like a peat bog,
preserving them for future
generations.

growing lusher and lusher.

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

Tongue-tied

Expression is a challenge
For I lack a sweet tongue
I stare at you in silence
Can you hear my heart’s song?
You get me tongue-tied but it comes out as me uncaring ✨

Be Still
 Apr 2020 Theresa
Edward
Be still , and abide  in the Lord everyday.
Be still, and wait for the Lord to lead you.
Be still, and listen for the Lord to answer.
Be still, and Lean on the Lord always too.
Follow, the Lord for he shall lead you here.
Follow, the Lord to the road he leads you to.
Follow , for the Lord knows your every step.
