Sweet voices of children
echo through the sanctuary.
Tiny hands shake silver bells,
as the room is full of parents' smiles.
Children singing songs of Christmas cheer.
"Away in a manger."
Is heard loud and clear.
Children's voices,
like the voices of angels.
Float up to God above.
As He smiles down upon them.
For each child He dearly loves.
Sweet voices.
Angel voices.
Of little children.
Echo through the sanctuary.
At Christmastime.
What a gift it is.
To all who hear them.
Angel Voices.

images of the savior’s birth abound
in Christian lands

many rooms in many museums
have been filled with paintings of the scene
over many centuries

he
and his ****** mother
and his consenting father
in a manger
shepherds and sweet animals around

33 years later

what does it mean
that he shouldered the guilt of mankind
and died for us on the cross

what guilt

why did he have to die

born innocent by a ******
    visited by the holy spirit

the archetypal story
    of human suffering
begins with his birth

and has not ended since

There's a few too many years
Clinging on these old bones
You can tell by the way
They creak and grind as they groan

And with the condition of the skin
That loosely covers them
More than not a few wonder years
They have had to live

With what little wispy bit
Of thinning hair that's left
There's more gray thatch than that of black
These days at its best

Then there's the ever dimming down
Of the once bright stage lights
That I hate to place the blame
On my old age eyesight

And with the continued way
The mind skips, dips, and wanes
I find it's all a part of life's
Greatest give away

Which makes it harder than ever
To know if I was told
That this is how it really feels
When my friend you have grown old
I had a Birthday poem that I've been saving for 2 weeks now to post and this morning I can't find it! Maybe it'll show up about the time I turn 61! Lol!
When first I saw your ink on paper
It plucked me to do tender similar
I loved the way your thoughts did flow
It made my own words seed to sow

Brave and bold my thoughts you see
To try to be like greats the key
But when my ink well ran its course
Emily, my devoted force

Can I love you now in shadow?
My thoughts are past in sorrow
Just take it as the wind will blow
Handsome words that sometimes flow

Your memory will live on in me
And others too, as it should be
Thank you for the lovely words
Quivering flight like hummingbirds
Dedicated to Emily Dickinson

i believe
in me & you
where one & one
adds to the truth
subtract the world
from our view
& all that leaves
is me & you

hand in hand
we won't let loose
from everything
that we go through
a promise made
in the i do
between me
between you

to always stand
on loves firm truth
& on that thought
to not let loose
hasn't always been
an easy cruise
but i'm glad i did
it all with you

If I were an elephant
I know just what I'd do
I'd pack my trunk with all my junk
And move far from the zoo

I'd bring with me my monkey
Best friend and sidekick Preston
If memory correctly serves me
He's a **** at giving directions

Cause I'd like to move to Timbuktu
Either that or Kathmandu
One thing is clear as long as it's not here
Any old place will do

I'd then open up a doughnut shop
Run by Preston the monkey and me
Where we would toss sprinkles on top
With banana creme in-between

We'd be known far and wide for our doughnut delights
Oh and fancy schmancy eclairs too
Yes if I were an elephant
That's exactly what I would do

Wouldn't you?

Why I loved you I don't know that...
What I liked in you I don't know that...
What I had seen in you I don't know that...
I don't know that, I don't know that...
Why I loved you I don't know that...
I liked in you I don't know what...

Well son...

It all began in Fairyland
In the lab of the mystical toads
As trash throughout the land had gotten way out of hand
Along side of the pixie dust roads

The system they had wasn't working
Leaving empty all the garbage cans
And everyone of the Fairies backs were hurting
Bending over picking all of the trash

In an off the wall guess Teddy Toad thought of this
Something the Fairies all liked
A horn on a horse as a matter of course
Then the trash men could go along for the ride

So they took a horse and Duct taped a horn
Cause we all know Duct tape works wonders
But it never fit right in its slip and its slide
In the taping of over and under

Science soon prevailed in the cell from the horn of a cow
Mixing it up with one from a horse
Purely by accident they just happened to chance
Upon what is now the Unicorn

Who's very first job was giving litter a nod
In helping to keep the streets clean
But before too long the Unicorn evolved
In the preforming of different activities

From the up turn of nose in sneezing rainbows
In the prettiest of sunny weather
To giving kids rides as they grew wings to fly
The ones mixed with birds of a feather

Or the burping of clouds when they opened their mouths
That only know how to rain Skittles
That sometimes floods the streets in candy knee deep
Running sugar sweet straight down the middle

So if you're ever confused on how Unicorns were first used
Or had any doubt to how they came about
You can set your mind at ease
You now know they were created because Fairies all hated
Bending over picking trash off the streets

Goodnight son, sweet dreams...
Wrote this for my friend Sally A. Banyan because she likes Unicorns...

As you're keeping tabs
On all that you have
Have you ever once thought
Of giving some of it back

Will you then pay heed
To what could be your greed
And give a portion to those around
That are desperately in need

Don't make the season that we're in
The only reason for giving
Unless it is to start
A better new beginning

In a life long plan
With what you have been blessed
And what a blessing that would be
To give part of it back
