To lead is to be light and fluid
like a pied piper.

But often they are like lead,
silver and immovable.

They sanction in times of mercy
like when your parakeet died
and you’re late to work.

They don’t remediate with punishments
of docked pay for your inability
to get over it.

They buckle it together:
strategic plan and daily ops,
team to team to team.

They never buckle under
like King Lear
or a bad knee.

The overlook the floor.
They know everyone by name.

They never overlook a widget,
flaw or warning signal.

They are stakeholders.
They hold a stake.

They are never proxies,
holding stakes for other leaders.

The are transparent, obvious.
Never out of sight.

They weather the downturn, withstand the force.
They do not corrode.

The seed. They put down seeds.
They do not rob the fruit.

Red faced and wasted
I saw you naked
And fell in love
With your ancient body
Gone is the impulse to run
And all i can do now
Is to write simply
Lies and truth
Mixed together
Like oil and vinegar
We are fumigating
Our own bodies
Remove these carbon copies
And quietly daydream
About the faces of lost
Summer lovers
Fundraisers say goodbye
To yesterday's vacations
Just as we long to cry
We catch ourselves
Smiling for a moment

What do the turtles wish to communicate
Are we awake in our shells
Or have we fallen into the spell of limitation
Consternation and *******
Facts and figures receive their adulation
While we attract only tender triangulations
Please finish up your investigation
I blame you for instigating this comedy
A catalyst of abomination and dichotomy
Which followed me into retirement
Let's give banquets back to the government
And return to ancient lands
Devoted to camels and drunken apologies

It's apocryphal
Pornographic phantasmagoria
Fantastic fan-fictions
Describing sacredly sadistic rituals
Glorious duality
Radically alters our expectations
Yet manages to satisfy your frustrations
In dissimilar situations
We liberate our agitation and consternation
Over magazines and barnacles
We are more conspicuous
Than an empty gap in the sky
Made by two constellations
Taking a long vacation

Intrepid sailors raise their sails
And navigate by stars and compasses
Renaissance dancers are porous instigators
They initiate our imitations
We dream of political sovereignty
To remediate these tragedies
I breathe warfare and cleanse the air
Of apathetic non-negotiaters
Harboring criminals like butterflies
Sometimes the means do justify your eyes

Targets never argue
And bullets never lie
Finances and fiancées
Certainly have some value
Yet we underrate our skies
Miles of lost continents
Drift out from your skin
We begin an embargo
Hoping in the future we will win
Metaphysical furniture
Effects the state of mind you're in
The record players turned down
But you heat me up to begin

Uncle Vanya and Lady Godiva

Uncle Vanya came strolling down the road
Wishing he had made something of his life
His young friend Anne loquaciously agreed
And with remarkable vehemence urged him

     to endeavour to remediate his perceived inadequacies in the
     many precedent matters that burdened him…

Don Quixote suggested that worries were giants
Cassandra said, “There is only one page left”
Nick Adams whispered, “Shh! You’ll scare the fish!”
Ambrose Silk asked the way to the world’s end

And young Lady Godiva, sans chemise
Outsourced her image on souvenir tees

Chose a (positive) word beginning with "a" ...selected a rhyming word that is also a synonym or in some way closely related...then same thing with the rest of alphabet. Don't know why I came up with this but it was kind of fun...and admittedly I stretched it pretty far on some.

Even when you are shattered
When nothing remains but shards of glass
Some people are willing to sweep you up
Gather you in a bucket
And slowly help glue you back together
That is unconditional love.

Even when the shards cut them
When everything you do seems to hurt them
They are still willing to keep help you
They work through their own pain
To help remediate yours
That is unconditional love

Even when it feels like you deserve nothing
When nothing and nobody seems to accept you
Those who love you welcome you with open arms
They surround you with their warmth
And continue to help you grow
Because that is unconditional love.
I know the rhythm in this isn't the greatest, but this sits strongly with me due to some recent events in my own life and I thought I should share how I see unconditional love.

At least a meter away,
but at best, don't go out;
better to keep it to yourself
than let it spread out;
assess your situation;
beware of others, too;
better to keep safe
than let others harm you;
don't go beyond boundaries;
don't take a stroll;
don't let the outside world
take your self-control;
talk to a minimum,
or don't talk at all;
cover your face with a mask;
remediate with alcohol.

These will keep you apart
from everyone around,
keeping them safe from tragedies
in which you are bound.
Then I heard the news of the Corona Virus. I guess this is also appropriate to apply.
