Together and in pieces
but always liqiud
open-hearted and wild-eyed until you reach the sea
Free and infinite.
Ill remember you.

(breathe.)

I. Monday

Lethargy is your close friend
the weight of its hand on your shoulder
is both familiar and heavy
you want to push it away
but these days
you need company more than dignity

(in and out)

II. Tuesday

You always hate this day
your coffee always turn sour
and the sky always seems so bleak
you try to convince yourself
it does not have anything to do
with the ever absent table in front of you

(breathe.)

III. Wednesday

Scrolling down through facebook
you see pictures of your high school friends
you scowled and keep scrolling
the taste of toilet water and stale food
still ripe on your tounge
you grimaced
a therapy add pops up into your monitor

(the bile is normal. breathe)

IV. Thursday

You wonder about greek gods
about their passion that turned cruel
you also wonder why things are called things
and other inane things
you wonder a lot
why rice tasted nice
why blue sounds sad
why your brother never came home

(exhale and inhale)

V. Friday

Five, that's the number of people in your family
Your father, who always phones at midnight
your mother, who stayed in the kitchen weeping
your brother, who you never seen again
your sister, who wear short skirts to hide the bruises on her
you, who swallowd too many pills to remember how to be human

(don't try to stop breathing. It's important)

VI. Saturday

It's almost over now
you wrote down every word you remember
from their letter that they sent 2 years ago
before they became a mess of mutated cell
you keep telling your self they're still the same
you lie to yourself so you can sleep at night
denying that change is inevitable
you have mutated too
the infection were from yourself

(in out in out inoutinoutinout)

VII. Sunday

The sun is shining bright today
but the lights are blinding
and you burrow further into the blanket
not smiling as hands brushes your hair
they're the skeleton begging to be out
from the closet you locked them
you pursed your lips
Golden liqiud it is

(breathe and look up.)
ND Uzoamaka Jan 2020
you think you're trying to shut us out
and yet you are just our puppet
living on the edge your resolve
softer than butter
we control your desires
and give you leisure in abudance

you can't drown your sorrows in acidic liqiud
because we don't reside in your stomach
you can't force us out with meditations
no! we play king of the hill with your mind,
it's exhilrating

your mind is an abomination
and we casue commotion
because you have no regulations
or principles whatsoever
you have no authority
over your subconsciousness
and your conscience
is on the brink of extinction

sometimes it feels like a dream
and yet it's so real
with just a spark you've brought us this far
it's exciting

with your counsel you've single handedly imprisoned yourself
a prisoner chained down by his own addictions
he can't even break free
it seems you can ruin your own soul and life
and you don't even need me

your addictions a source of your happiness
coated with grief
you can't get over it
it sticks like gum
suffering sugar coated in lies and luxury.
messing up everything on your own
we have no problem with that
because you detached yourself and became lonely
and so we brought company, you'll never walk alone

we're not here to help you
you've grown now
for so long we acted like we cared about you
so it's pointless pretending that we won't hurt
for so long we acted like we cared about you
just so you could let us in some more until you become helpless

the control of the mind of a man
has been left in his hand by God
and it's called freewill
the right to choose whatever is right
and decline the wrong on your own accord
how can a man be a prisoner in his own home ?

yes the voices has the sweetest tongues
yes it has the smoothtest lies
but you alone control what stays in your mind .
grace is more than sufficient
but helplessness comes from ignoring the power of the almighty.
christ has set us free from the power of sin
and now we have power over sin

temptations will come but when our faith is so strong
it'll bounce off and leave.
no principality has control over your personality
because the almighty has paid the price
for the ultimate sacrifice for our iniquity.

if those voice come at you again,
remember that you're free in christ Jesus
and stand up straight
send them parking and never let anyone
or anything stay and confuse you
Selah !!
