Liquid pleasures
often, the company
lonely poets keep
when they cannot sleep

I woke up
to the glorious sound of the first rains
the unmistakable scent
of petals dancing

The wind a little calmer
resting in awe
blossoms smiling,
grateful, to be kissed with natures love

A feeling
A spark
A fire
Blazing in the dark

Screaming your name
In the lonely midnight hour
Nothing will ever be the same
Our souls searching in vain

As the day bleeds
Into night
I lose sight
Of all my needs

I never talk to strangers
it scares me to get close to the unknown
but, then I remember
how we met ...

We share hurt
unbearable pain
our truths are not always pretty
but we have each other

We get excited about the little detail
and absorb aches in the aftermath
of hope ... lost
often we believe love is not ours to have

But we are friends
and we love each other
no matter what
to infinity and beyond, my friend, my Werner.

I have loved you for years
but our love has been a rollercoaster ride
a battlefield of our souls fighting
our hearts breaking over and over

We both prefer our solace
it hurts less
than for us to be together and
fighting over a love that will remain
                                                              ... a battlefield

Breaking into a pause mid-breath
your words cut into my memories
before dancing with the rain
across the path in a mirror reflection

Tears cascading down my face
crashing into my heart
my dreams are bound
by only a memory of your touch
