The pressures of the day dissipate
     Worries of tomorrow retreat.
Tensions take flight in the stratosphere
     Vaporized by the heat in the air.
Psychological armor melts away
     Veils and covers are kept at Bay.
The frigid world begins to thaw
     Threatening crisis withdraw.

All from the warmth of your arms.

I am forever changed

I can not hit esc
There's no back out option
My life's been rearranged

Short circuited
By the surge of your touch
I will never be the same

I've been Remanufactured
Reprogrammed and Restored
My heart's logo reads your name.

Long term exposure can cause damage to your mind
     Keep at a safe distance, just come close for a good time.

The package may look good, My heart is in the right place
     But toxins flow through me, You're best to keep your space.

Small doses are fine and have little effect
     But prolonged contact is bound to affect.

The damage that is done creeps up over time
     This is a warning for your sake and mine.

Time elapsed has been good to me
Past pains have diminished
Memories of laughter draw me back
Not for it all, but for the friendship.


Our conversations have been easy
No expectations or complications
Lines left uncrossed, flirtations tossed
For more serious communications.


Deceived by the distance and
Misled by my [fragile] armor of strength
I believe I can see you again
Without falling into your arms again.


We meet with an embrace
I feel a simmering warmth
Initially mistaken as just
The joy of seeing an old friend.


But, Your smile starts to sedate me
I am losing consciousness with reality
Your eyes have launched a stealth attack
On my logic and disarmed my sense.


My ears capture only silence
My eyes keenly focus on your lips
My mouth tastes your every word
I bite firmly upon my lower lip.


The heat now radiating is too intense
My clothes singe in the flames of desire
I am bare and breathless before you
Resuscitated only by your kiss and...touch.

Like Baby

To show just how serious I am.

I would add in happy words
Like Joy
And Bliss
Because what's Love without Happiness

Rendered helpless Amidst

The warmth of your touch
     The might in your grasp
          The softly whispered request

     Touched liked that
          Needed like that
               Desired like that
                    In Years

I had no choice

But to Surrender.

A moth amidst your flame
    A deer in your headlights

When Peace evades me
     and Hope fades to a memory.

When Frustration and Grief become my only friends
     and Weak and Weary try their best to settle in.

Just as Hatred is knocking at my door...

I am turning this pencil upside down and rubbing vigorously upon a fictional friend.

Pressing tightly to my life's page the images of you disappear and your presence comes to an end.

Blowing away the memories of opportunistic lies, self serving betrayals and make pretend.

The page is now clear.  A new story can be told.  This time however, I will write it in pen.

Take a couple of puffs on these verses, before they get old.
Spend time with each line, let the story unfold.
Allow the words to surge, through your body and soul.
And with deep understanding, exhale from this hold.

Now with new inspiration, feeling free to be bold.
Permit your expressions to flow, like rivers of gold.
In it's post natal form, while still damp and cold.
Release without fear, let your story be told.

I have a scalpel in my hand
     Placed just below my neck.
Sliding slowly down the center
     In between each breast.

Tightly grasping my new split chest
     I Pull wide for all to see.
Exposing with no shame
     The Heart that beats inside me.

Now Folding my hands together
     I Bring them up to a bowed head.
I'm Praying to the Lord above
     For strength. I'm wanting to be led.

For I am open in a cruel harsh world
     A defenseless sitting prey.
I have Chosen to reveal myself
     And face all the scrutiny.

My feet are firmly planted
     Standing strong in who I am.
Knowing any confrontation
     I surely can withstand.

Raising my bare fists before me
     Waging war on fear within.
With might and determination
     Each battle I will win.

My hand now stretches outward
     To another friend nearby.
One wanting to open up as well
     And no longer hide inside.

     Summer's heat is a memory

Fall brings cool winds
     Winter's not far away

Our Love blossomed like the flowers in Spring
   The passion surpassed the hottest Summer day
Cool attitudes and cold shoulders Fall into place
    Death at Winter's first frost is inevitable.

Pieces of me are missing
     They just and up left today
Going on a permanent vacation
     They said they couldn't stay

My heart and Soul are gone
     They had something else to do
I tell you this because
     I have a feeling they're with you

   Unwilling to face defeat.

Inside you there is Beauty
   Exquisitely mesmerizing & Pleasing to all
God's finest composition
   I believe I just saw.

Inside you there is Depth
  Many got confused and lost their way
I explore you freely
   Finding new adventures each day.

Inside you there is Peace
  Others have pilfered and then withdrew.
I will replenish it fully
   So that you may enjoy some too.
