Oscar Wilde
Milton!  I think thy spirit hath passed away
From these white cliffs and high-embattled towers;
This gorgeous fiery-coloured world of ours
Seems fallen into ashes dull and grey,
And the age changed unto a mimic play
Wherein we waste our else too-crowded hours:
For all our pomp and pageantry and powers
We are but fit to delve the common clay,
Seeing this little isle on which we stand,
This England, this sea-lion of the sea,
By ignorant demagogues is held in fee,
Who love her not:  Dear God! is this the land
Which bare a triple empire in her hand
When Cromwell spake the word Democracy!
Behind our doors
there is speak
of an underworld
where instead of Hades

lives the politicians,
but they are worst than the devil
because these folks were never
fallen angels.

governmental deities
whose sole goal is power
or the enjoyablility of having
not to answer any tough questions.

We pay them
not to find the fine line
or to do the correct thing
for our country--
instead corporations corrupt them
to hide their skeletons
behind closed doors.

How can we expect
them to provide for us
when their true investment is held in money
capitalism--
a form of life-sized monopoly
trying to collect all the paper bills.
How can we expect our countries, our homes to improve when they are financed by greed.
Explain the rules,
All you callous ghouls,
What are rules?
Power games for you,
One way traffic, you see,
Why are you exploiting me?
Why can't you get someone better?
Write me your rules in a letter!
So, you callous ghouls,
You explain your rules,
Maybe there are no rules,
You made it up to suit you,
You write down your rules!
Feedback welcome.
I had two lizards.
Their names were E's and Whizz after the Pulp song, which was apparently about drugs.
Lizards aren't like drugs.
They're just different.
You can't take a lizard to get high.
You could try it with the right kind of frog but licking a lizard just makes you look weird.
Plus if you tried to swallow one, it would get stuck in your throat.
Lizards don't like that.
Plus you'd get done for animal cruelty.
It's ok though, you'd have the excuse that you were smacked off your t**s on Lizard.
I looked after them,
But they kind of melted.
This was real,
Not drugs.
I hadn't tried drugs.
I hadn't licked a lizard.
Lizards aren't like drugs anyway,
but we've already covered that,
it's a bad analogy.
It was horrid watching them,
Think I over heated the tank.
I think it's kind of an analogy for life.
You can spend your life buying all the right food
Keeping the temperature just right.
But never enjoy your lizard
Too busy thinking about food and heat.
Or you can just get on with things.
Enjoy your lizards,
crank up the heat
see what happens.
I think life's better like that.
Not for lizards though.
Mine melted.
You've got to keep their temperature right.
It was a bad analogy.

I'm still single if anyone's interested?
I told her I was going to kiss her
But she beat me to it
It was so fast and then she laughed
I said maybe I didn’t say that right
She said maybe you didn’t
But you got what you paid for

She said that’s what a memory tastes like
It’s never long enough
I said it wasn’t time for remembering
It was time for dreaming
She smiled and said keep it to yourself
I’ve heard that kind of talk before

It’s not time for losing control
It’s not time for reading minds
It doesn’t matter if it's late
It’s still the first date
Still the first date

Somebody told her older men can’t wait
I said maybe we’re afraid of time
It’s because we know how good it can be
She said it will be better than ever
But she wanted a cigarette first
Later we’d only spend time doing it again

I decided to light it for her
She was in control and that was her game
It didn’t matter to me anyway
At least my pride is tougher than a long night
Then she said you don’t care how I act
As long as you get what you want in the end

It’s not time for losing control
It’s not time for reading minds
It doesn’t matter if it's late
It’s still the first date
It’s still the first date
First date
It's still the first date
